conducted by Chennai Institute of Technology in the month of March 2016.

conducted by SRM Easwari Engineering College in the month of March 2016.

Virtual BAJA SAE INDIA 2016, Organised by SAE INDIA on 24 & 25 Th June at

2016 was held at Christ University, Bengaluru. Our students secured 28th rank out of

300 colleges.

July 2016

M.Aashrita of third year Mechanical won Runner’s up cup in the interclub Water

polo Championship 2016 held on 3 rd July 2016.

August 2016

The Department Association and SAE Collegiate Club Inauguration were held

on 10-08-2016. Dr V. Ganesan ,Professor, Indian Institute of Technology,

Chennai and enlightened our students with his wonderful speech.

AUGUST 2016

The SAE Collegiate Club of MNMJEC has conducted the Tier-1 events, a

series of 17 events testing the skills of the students in the automotive domain of

mechanical engineering like Paper Presentation, Aero Modeling, Technical

Quiz, Prototype Challenge, etc.

SEPTEMBER 16

“SWIVEL”16’, a national level technical symposium was held on 24th of September

2016. The symposium was inaugurated by Dr.P.Sivakumar, Director CVRDE-DRDO,

Chennai. A total of seventeen events were conducted which include paper presentation,

project presentation, aero modeling, tech hunt, Mech king, water rocketry ,RC cars,

sumo robo, Machining, Tech quiz, gaming online photography, pentathlon, and truss

master etc. The chief guest for valedictory function was Mr .G.Ajitha Prabu, Director -

Kriatech services and Mr.S.Maanikandan, Proprietor; Tamilnadu Educational Instruments

Chennai. They distributed the prizes to the proud winners of the various events. Prize

money worth Rs 40,000 was given to prize winners of technical and Non-technical

events.

Team Vidyuth Vahan, The E baja Team of MNMJEC, participated in the 10th SAE

BAJA competition conducted at NatRip , Indore, Madhya Pradesh. There were a total of

33 participating teams in the E BAJA category. The team had already cleared the virtual

round conducted at Christ University, Bangalore in July 2016. The team successfully

cleared all the technical inspections (Both Mechanical and Electrical) and in the end

secured a all India Rank of 19. The event was conducted from 16-02-2017 to 19-02-

2017. In addition to this achievement, Aravind S.M , captain and member of the team,

from final year mechanical got placed in VARROC POLYMERS through the BAJA

placement facilities for a salary offer of Rs. 4,00,000/- CTC.

March 2017

A National conference on Advances in Mechanical Engineering was organized by the

Department of Mechanical Engineering on 25.03.17. Chief Guest Dr.E.Natarajan,

Professor, Anna University, Chennai released the Conference proceedings. Total number

of 60 research article in the trust area of mechanical engineering were presented in the

national conference and published in the conference proceedings.
