Hydraulics

Performance. The Cat® C7 withACERT™ Technology offers moreengine power and runs at lowerspeeds for better fuel economyand reduced wear.
Engine Controller. ADEM™ A4(Advanced Diesel Engine Management)controller uses sensors throughout theengine to manage engine load andperformance. The ADEM™ A4controller is the muscle behind engineresponsiveness, self-diagnostics,controlling emissions, and fuel economy.
Fuel System. The Cat® C7 ACERT™engine features electronic controls thatgovern the mechanically actuated unitfuel injection (MEUI) system. Multipleinjection fuel delivery involves a highdegree of precision. Precisely shapingthe combustion cycles lowers combustionchamber temperatures, generatingfewer emissions and optimizing fuelcombustion. This translates into morework output for your fuel cost.
Cooling System. To reduce fan noise,the cooling fan is driven from a viscousclutch that is electrically controlled bythe machine ECM. It calculates optimumfan speed based on the target enginespeed, coolant temperature, hydraulicoil temperature and actual fan speed.The Cat® C7 ACERT™ engine deliversa completely new layout that separatesthe cooling system from the enginecompartment.
Air Cleaner. The radial seal air filterfeatures a double-layered filter corefor more efficient filtration and islocated in a compartment behind thecab. A warning is displayed on themonitor when dust accumulatesabove a preset level.

Operator Station. To maximizevisibility, all glass is affixed directly tothe cab eliminating the use of windowframes. 50/50 split front windshieldallows both upper and lower portionsto be stored in the overhead positionwith a one-touch action release system.Parallelogram wiper covers almost thecomplete front window without leavingunwiped areas in the immediate lineof sight of the operator.

The bottom position is ideal for shippingand travel.

2.6 m (8'6") Hydraulic Cab Riser (HCR).The M325D MH and M325DL MH areequipped with a new hydraulic cabriser, which offers increased visibilityand comfort with additional cab height.Providing more flexibility, the HCRallows you to operate at any heightbetween the lowest and highest positions.
Monitor. The compact, full-color,graphical display monitor displaysmachine, maintenance, diagnosticand prognostic information, in twentydifferent languages. Monitor angle canbe adjusted to minimize sun glare.
Consoles. Redesigned consoles featurea simple, functional design to reduceoperator fatigue, ease of switch operationsand excellent visibility. Both consoleshave attached armrests and allow theheight of armrests to be adjusted.
Implement Controls. Easy to handlejoysticks with integrated push buttonsand sliding switches control all implementand swing functions. The sliding switchesprovide modulated control for grapplerotation and hydraulic cab riser activation.They are designed to increase operatorcomfort and reduce operator fatigue.
Hydraulic Actuation Control Lever.For added safety, this lever must bein the operate position to activate themachine controls functions.

Operator StationThe new cab, equipped with a 2.6 m (8'6") hydraulic cab riser provide improved visibilityand comfort. The new monitor is a full-color graphical display with enhanced functionalityto provide a simple, comprehensive machine interface.
Purpose Designed Upperframe andCounterweight. The upperframe isspecifically designed for the scrap andmaterial handling markets. It is builtof heavier strength material and thickersteel sections to handle the increasedswing loads developed with the longerfront parts, heavier counterweights, andcab risers used in material handling.
Strong and Stable Undercarriage.The M325D MH and M325DL MHwheeled undercarriages provide maximumrigidity and long service life.
The hydraulic lines are routed throughthe frame, and the cylinders have heavy-duty guards to provide protection fromdamage. The front axles on M325D MHand the rear axles on M325D LMHoffer great oscillating and steeringangles. The transmission is mounteddirectly on the rear axle for protectionand optimum ground clearance.
The M325D MH includes 4 dual12.00-20 solid rubber tires, and theM325D LMH is equipped with 4 single16.00-25 solid rubber tires. Optionalpneumatic tires are also available.
A large toolbox is provided.
Material Handling Front. The two frontoptions meet your material handlingneeds with excellent lift performanceand working range whether operatingin close or at full reach. Built for strongperformance and long service life.
Efficient Design of Welded Box-SectionSections. The design with thick, multi-plate fabrications in high stress areasallows structures to flex, dissipatingstresses, and maximizing strength.
Finite element analysis is used in thedetermination of structural stresses andenables optimization of durability andperformance. Castings and forging areused in critical high-load areas such asthe boom nose, boom foot, and boomcylinder connection.
Internal baffle plates provide additionalstrength and durability throughout thestructure to withstand torsional loads.
Stress Relieving of Booms and Sticks.Maximizes strength and minimizesstructure weight for greater durability.

StructuresCaterpillar’s design and manufacturing techniques deliver outstanding durability andservice life. Booms and sticks, made up of welded box-section structures, are fabricatedwith thicker plates to withstand high stresses.
Hydraulics. The M325D MH andM325D LMH hydraulic system isdesigned to handle the specificrequirements of the materialhandling industry.
Pilot System. The hydraulic pilotsystem controls the front linkage,swing, and travel operations.
Hydraulic Cross-Sensing System.The two main hydraulic pumps use100 percent of available horsepowerresulting in faster implement speedsand increased productivity.
Boom and Stick Regeneration Circuit.Saves energy during boom-down andstick-in operation, providing shortercycle times and lower operating cost.
Boom and Swing Priority. The hydraulicsystem on the M325D MH andM325D LMH provides automaticpriority function for boom-up andswing operations eliminating the needfor work mode button. When the boomor swing is activated, the systemautomatically assigns priority basedon operator demand.
Hydraulic Cylinders Snubbers.The hydraulic cylinder snubbers atthe rod end of boom cylinders and bothends of stick cylinder reduce sound andincrease cylinder life to keep machinesworking longer.
Heavy Lift Feature. The operator canselect the heavy lift mode at the pushof a button to boost lifting capabilityand provide improved controllabilityof heavy loads.
Medium Pressure Circuit. The on/offgrapple rotate function on the M325C MHand M325C LMH has been replacedby modulated rotate function on theM325D MH/LMH with a sliding switchon the left joystick. The operator is ableto precisely position the worktool.The grapple open/close function is alsomodulated using a high pressure circuitcontrolled by the right joystick.

HydraulicsThe hydraulics system provides efficient performance, unmatched in the industry, designed toprovide reliability and outstanding controllability with increased lifting capacity. The HeavyLift Mode maximizes lifting performance while maintaining excellent stability.
Walker Magnets. The Walker Liftmaster1.22 m (48") Lift Master magnets canbe used with the M325D MH orM325D LMH. The Walker Liftmaster1.45 m (57") can be used with theM325D LMH with the 15.65 m (51'3")front or M325D MH with 14.3 m (47'0")front. The Walker Liftmaster Walker1.68 m (66") is available for use withthe M325D LMH with the 14.3 m(47'0") front.
These magnets have been designedand engineered for scrap processingapplications. Ask your dealer salespersonfor information on the Walker Magnet.
