The reason why I am glad that I came to Shirayuri is that we can learn in small

classes. I would like to have more meaningful time to learn with others in classes,

but it was very hard to say my ideas, ask questions and speak in English in the

large classes. However, at Shirayuri, it is easier for me to hear classmates’ ideas

and talk with classmates in English in small classes without hesitation and feeling

nervous, so I think each student can take such classes and learn about something

actively at Shirayuri. In addition, the English department has very great and

enthusiastic teachers. They increased my motivation to learn a lot and I think we

could build relationships of trust with them. I believe my experience at Shirayuri

must be helpful for my future.

まず⽩百合⼥⼦⼤学を選んだ理由は、少⼈数制の授業に魅⼒を感じたから

です。 私は⼈と同じ環境でより有意義な学びの時間を得たいと思っていま

すが、⼤⼈数の中で⾃分の考えを発⾔をする、先⽣に質問をする、話し慣

れない英語を話すことに恥ずかしさを感じていました。しかし、少⼈数で

あれば、クラス皆の意⾒を聞くことができる、⾃分の思っていることを発

信できるなど、ディスカッションを通して⼀⼈⼀⼈が熱⼼に取り組める授

業が⽩百合⼥⼦⼤学にはあります。 そして英⽂科には⼀⼈ひとり熱⼼に指

導してくださる先⽣⽅が多く、先⽣⽅との信頼関係を築くことができるた

め、より学習意欲を⾼められると感じています。⽩百合でのこれらの経験

が、⽣きていく上で将来必ず役⽴つと思います。

Shirayuri University has a lot of excellent points for your learning. Especially, if you

want to learn about English, this university is so good for you. It has a lot of

programs for studying abroad. I used this program and I’ve studied abroad in

Canada. I think this study abroad was an experience that changed my values.

Besides this, this university has a lot of courses divided into what you want to

learn and a lot of programs for your future. If you learn in this university, you’ll be

able to have a very fun and meaningful time for 4 years, I think. Now, you may be

very anxious because it is before the important test. But I think anxiety is proof

that you are trying, so trust yourself and keep it up a little bit more. Finally, I’ll give

you one piece of advice. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Good luck!!

Learning with the TA Learning with ExchangeStudents

The reason I chose Shirayuri is because I have dreamed of becoming a flight

attendant so I wanted to take the Hospitality Management Program to expand my

abilities. Also, I felt fascinated that learning things with “using English” rather than

“learning English”. This is why I decided to come to Shirayuri! Looking back at my 4

years at Shirayuri University, I believe that not only my abilities, but also my

personality has made progress, and I have grown a lot as a person and as a

woman. This is because my teachers gave me a lot of opportunities where I could

speak up and share my ideas and I could expand my perspective! In addition, I had

many opportunities to think about my future and think of myself. I’m sure that you

can make your 4 years meaningful and fruitful at Shirayuri University!!

⽩百合⼥⼦⼤学を選んだ理由は、客室乗務員になることが夢だった為ホス

ピタリティマネジメントプログラムを通して⾃分⾃⾝の夢の可能性を広げ

たいと思ったからです。また"英語 を学ぶ"ということよりも"英語を使っ

て"様々なことを学ぶという授業のあり⽅に魅⼒を感じました。 ⽩百合⼥⼦

⼤学での4年間を通して、英語⼒を⾼めることはもちろん、⼈としてまた⼥

性として成⻑することができたと感じています。それは英⽂科の先⽣⽅が

授業をただ享受するものではなく、発信して共有し⾃分の考え⽅をよりグ

ローバルなものに変える場所にしてくれたからだと思います。また授業以

外にも⾃分の成⻑を実感でき沢⼭のことを経験できる機会がたくさんあり

⼤学での4年間が実りあるものになると思います。

先⽣との距離が近いので質問などはすぐにでき、先⽣も丁寧に教えてくだ

さるところは学ぶという点ですごく良かったです。

私は⽩百合だからこそ、児童英語教育の資格を取得できました。取得まで

の過程でも分からないことがあれば先⽣にすぐ質問できる授業の環境が整

っていましたし、⽩百合の友達は皆思いやりがある⼈たちばかりなので実

習なども皆で頑張れました。

Christmas in the EikenSnow day at Shirayuri!

I came to Shirayuri because there are many teachers who support students cordially and friendly

because the number of students is smaller than other Universities. It is very close between

students and teachers. (It really is!) Also, I thought I could focus on what I want for the future, like the

Hospitality Management Program, teacher’s license, GBP, or study abroad. There are many

options. Shirayuri also has strong support for job hunting. Many companies that don’t come to

other universities come to Shirayuri for the Hospitality Management Program, and there are a lot of

hospitality events that are not at other universities, such as airline forums, hotel forums, hospitality

talk sessions, and so on. So, we can get a lot of information from various companies at school. In

particular, there is strong support for people interested in airline companies. I could have

opportunities to go on school field trips to the airport. This is something that is special to Shirayuri.

The reasons for me to enter Shirayuri University are as follows: firstly,

I think a women's university is very interesting (because I am a

foreigner), and I can learn hospitality in Shirayuri University. I learned

a lot in Shirayuri University, especially in the course of International

Society and Culture, where I learned how to look at things objectively

and express my own ideas in English. I highly recommend that English

major students take the International Society and Culture course,

although it is a little difficult, but once you start to work hard, you will

certainly get the rewards. I hope you have a wonderful four years at

Shirayuri University. Fighting!

I think that Shirayuri University is a wonderful school because we can take lessons

surrounded by nature, even though we are in the city. I am in the Department of

English Language and Literature. I could learn English with fun for 4 years because of

small group lessons. Therefore, the distance between student and teacher is very

close. Then, I started taking the program “English Education in Elementary School”

course since I was a sophomore. I went to practice teaching at elementary school for

one year. Thanks to this program, I got the certifications for J-SHINE (Japan Shogakko

[Elementary School] Instructors of English). As a result, I felt that it will definitely help

as a member of society, so if you are in the Department of English Language and

Literature, I recommend that you do it. It is very fun and it widens your horizons.

⽩百合⼥⼦⼤学は、都⼼にも関わらず⾃然の環境で学べるとても素

晴らしい⼤学だと思います。私はこの4年間授業を受けて、少⼈数

制ですので、先⽣と学⽣の距離がとても近く勉強が楽しく学ぶこと

が出来ました。私は、英語英⽂学科を専攻し、⼤学2年⽣の頃か

ら、児童英語カリキュラムを取り、⼩学校英語指導者正資格取得の

為に、⼀年間、⼩学校に実習に⾏きました。結果、資格を取得致し

ましたが、それだけではなく、この児童英語カリキュラムで学んだ

ことは、社会に出たときに⼤きく役に⽴つことばかりだと思いま

す。特に英語英語学科を専攻する皆さんは是⾮、児童英語カリキュ

ラムは楽しくて、将来の道が広がるのでお勧めです。

私が⽩百合⼥⼦⼤学を選んだ理由はホスピタリティの授業が充実し

ていたからです。様々なプログラムがあるので、ここならグランド

スタッフになる夢を叶えられると思い、⼊学しました。また、授業

が少⼈数制のため⾃ら発信することができ、積極性も⾝につけるこ

とができると思いました。そして、先⽣と学⽣の距離が近いのも⽩

百合⼥⼦⼤学の魅⼒だと感じています。いつも親⾝に相談に乗って

くれる先⽣⽅が多くいらっしゃいます。私の⼤学⽣活は友⼈、先⽣

⽅がいたからこそ実りあるものになりました。授業だけでなく、就

職活動のサポートもしっかりしています。是⾮、皆さんも⽩百合⼥

⼦⼤学で多くのことを吸収してみませんか。
