Rationale for New Degrees
• Universities are overwhelmed with the number of applications received annually for undergraduate studies- lack of capacity
• We are strategically focused on producing graduates to make provision for scarce skills in the market place
• A degree qualification is a prerequisite for 60% of jobs available - employers are more inclined to employ an individual with a degree
• The White Paper for Post –School Education and Training written in November 2013 makes reference to private post school institutions providing opportunities by diversifying and expanding the higher education sector as a whole
• Mowbray has experienced an increased interest in the degrees especially the new disciplines of social science and business fields
