Our marina reception and site is open 24/7 for berthing,fuel, laundry and showers. We also have an on siterestaurant/licensed bar and a chandlery/mini-marketwhich are both open all year round. Our hoist and hardstanding facilities are available weekdays or special callout for emergencies.
This handbook is intended as a useful guide to assistyou during your stay. It includes all the informationyou may need to know about our marina and itsservices, as well as tidal predictions for 2010,navigational information and places to visit ashore.

Information for Visitors• We have 100% residential occupancy. When a resident
boat vacates their berth, a visitor’s berth is created andvisiting boats are welcome
• A limited number of visitor’s bookings can be taken inadvance, but a phone call or a call on VHF channel 80 on the day is necessary for berthing instructions
• Berthing is payable in advance and berths should bevacated by noon on the day of departure. A VHF call isappreciated as confirmation of your departure
• Visitors and crew car parking is on the gravel hard standing area
Marina Reception• Open from 0700hrs to 1900hrs, 364 days a year
(closed Christmas Day)• Monitors VHF Channel 80 during these times• Weather forecasts posted in reception daily• 24 hour flatscreen weather and news display• Bags of ice for sale• Our fax number is 01590 678186. You are welcome to
use our sending and receiving facilities for a small fee per page

Security 24/7• The marina is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year • Night Security – Outside office hours regular security

• Annual berth holders are issued with security key fobs togain access to the pontoon bridges, the shower blocks andthe main berth holders’ car park, which is situated at thesouthern end of the site. Visitors are issued with thecurrent entry code (changed regularly)
• Parking is at “owner’s risk”, so please do not leavevaluables in your car when unattended
• CCTV surveillance exists throughout the marina
Dry Berthing at Haven Quay Situated in the heart of Lymington, Haven Quay’s uniquelocation and facilities provide an excellent Dry Berthing andBoatyard service. Tel: 01590 677072. For more informationsee Haven Quay feature on pages 12 & 13.
Boatyard Services• We operate the hoist, crane, pressure wash and hard
standing areas. All bookings should be made through themarina office
• Scrub/antifoul offers are available at certain times of year;see notice board for details
• Storage ashore is available (free of charge to annual berthholders between 1st May and 31st August)
• Winter storage should be booked using the appropriatebooking form available from the marina office. Berth-holders have a chance to book early and arecharged at a reduced rate
• Trailers or cradles, which must be clearly identified, can bestored by arrangement only
• We operate a 24-hour emergency haul-out service all yearround and a seasonal call out service for engineers
Toilets and Showers“The Fortress” as it is known, conveniently located near thecentre bridgehead, is a purpose built shower/toilet block.Open 24/7 to berth-holders and accessible for visitors byaccess code throughout the year. Additional facilities areavailable in the Main Marina building and on H/K pontoon.
Launderette• Open 24/7 all year round• Washing machines and tumble driers are coin operated.
Trolleys• Are provided for your convenience and mostly £1 coin
operated• May be collected from any one of the three bridgehead
trolley parks• Please do not leave trolleys on the pontoons, return them
to the nearest trolley park• In the event of a trolley finding its way into the water,
please contact marina staff immediately
Water and Electricity• All pontoons have access to fresh water hosepipes • All berths have individual power points, except fingerette
and restricted access berths. Due to their proximity towater, these operate on sensitive trips and have thecapacity to supply 3 to 3.5 kW at 240v with a 15 ampcurrent
• Metered cables can be ordered and purchased from themarina reception
• Electricity is charged in addition to the annual berthing feeand berth holders must have a metered cable for use ofelectricity. Visitors berthing rates include a charge forelectricity
Fuel • Marine diesel (Gasoil) and unleaded petrol are available
24/7 all year round• The fuel dock is situated on the sea wall in front of the
marina office• Volume discounts on gasoil (>100 ltr, >300 ltr) and petrol
(>100 ltr) are available but only if paid for by cash, chequeor debit card
Sewage Pump-Out FacilityBoat owners may use this unit (tokens are available from thefuel kiosk) to pump out their own holding tanks at the fuelberth.
Calor and Camping Gaz RefillsBottled gas is available 24/7 all year round from the fueldock. Also available from the chandlers at the site entrance.
Waste Disposal • Large skips are situated close to each of the three
bridgeheads and are for disposal of general domesticwaste only from boats (EC regulations apply)
• Waste oil tanks are adjacent to the above• Spent batteries and used oil filters – for information on
disposal, please ask at the marina office• Bottle banks for recycling can be found on site, at the back
of the Haven BarPlease help us to keep the site clean and tidy and inform themarina staff of any spillages.

Local Supermarkets and Cash PointsThere is a Waitrose, Tesco and M&S Food in Lymington towncentre open 7 days a week. There are various cash points onthe High Street.
How to Become a Berth HolderBerths can become available at any time throughout theyear. Please contact us to discuss availability or simplycomplete the waiting list application form on page 41 of thishandbook. It is possible we may have a space immediately; if not for a deposit of £300 (deductible from your firstannual berthing fees or returnable on exiting the list) you willbe put on our waiting list and contacted when a suitableberth becomes available.

By seaLymington Yacht Haven is the first marina you come toup the Lymington River from the Solent.
By roadExit the M27 at Junction 1, following signs for Lymingtonon the A337. At Lymington, the marina directions areindicated on brown tourist signs, initially as Marinas &Riverside, and then as Yacht Haven. By exiting the M27at Junction 2, one can reach Lymington via Beaulieu,avoiding the potential bottleneck at Lyndhurst during the busy season.
By railRegular half hourly service from the main line station ofBrockenhurst through to Lymington Town. It is then a 20 minute walk to the marina from the station. (See map on page 27).

01° 30’.28W.• Leading lights 319 degrees, fixed red 12/17m 8M.• First port hand mark – Jack in the Basket – post with
barrel – Flashing red (2 seconds).• During daylight hours the RLYC starting platform (unlit)
is the first starboard mark.• Channel is marked by red piles with square top marks
to port, green piles with triangular top marks tostarboard.
• Port side has 4 lights flashing red (2 seconds) andHarpers Post quick 3 flash white (10 seconds).
• Starboard side 7 lights flashing green (2 seconds).• Leading lights for the Yacht Haven are at 244°, both
fixed orange, before reaching Harpers Post.
Weather Forecast Information• A weather station is located in the foyer area. This
includes a wind speed and direction indicator, abarometer, Navtex and the latest weather map andforecast updated at 0830 each day.
• Further local information can be obtained bytelephoning Marinecall on 0871 200 3985.
• The latest weather map and forecast is posted at thebridgeheads each day, or a copy is available from theMarina office.
HM Solent Coastguard Tel: 023 9255 2100The marine rescue centre is located at Lee on Solent.They maintain a continuous VHF watch on channel 16,working channel 67.

Tidal Information• The Standard Port for Lymington is Portsmouth. Low
water at Lymington is usually 20 minutes prior to lowwater Portsmouth, whether neaps or springs.
• Double high waters occur at or near springs and onother occasions there is a stand lasting about 2 hours.Predictions refer to the first high water when there aretwo. At other times they refer to the middle of thestand.
• Tide Tables for 2010 are printed at the back of thisHandbook for ease of reference.

Your Safety For your safety and enjoyment of our marinas please besure to follow the guidelines below. Comprehensivemarina rules can be found on the reverse of yourberthing contract. All boats using the marina facility,ashore or afloat, must have a minimum of £3,000,000third party insurance.
General• Please familiarise yourself with the location of
lifesaving and fire fighting equipment on the pontoonsand ashore, you will find safety ladders, fire fightingand life saving equipment at regular intervals on eachmain walkway
• Please take particular care on the pontoons when wetor icy as they can be slippery, please avoid running onthe pontoons and always ensure appropriate footwearis worn. Special care needs to be taken at night
• Report all accidents and potential accidents to themarina reception immediately. Please also report anydefective or damaged marina equipment immediately
• Please ensure all children and non swimmers wear alife jacket at all times
• Please do not allow children to ‘ride’ in the trolleys• Swimming, fishing and scuba diving are not permitted
in the marina• Do not speed in the marina, please mind your wash
and keep below 3 knots• Do not remove supports from vessels in the yard, or
run engines of vessels stored ashore. All furling sailsmust be removed prior to boats being lifted
• Always isolate gas and fuel when leaving your boat• Please do not allow dogs to foul the marina, there are
bins on site located at each bridgehead for you toclear up after them
In case of a fire on board• Sound the alarm by ringing the hand bell at each
bridgehead and ensure the marina staff are aware of the situation
• Call 999• Clear the area of people• Only tackle the fire if it is safe to do so with the
extinguishers provided in the emergency cabinets• Retreat to a safe distance and locate the nearest Fire
Assembly (Muster) Point
• Do not obstruct the bridges as access will be requiredby the emergency service and marina staff

Your Environment Yacht Havens Group is committed to promotingenvironmental awareness and good practice in all itsmarinas. Yacht Havens will continue to work with the RYA/ BMF Green Blue initiative to promote environmentalawareness to boat owners.
Marina Facilities• We provide facilities ashore for the recycling of glass,
plastics, oil, batteries and cardboard. Our aim is to getall marina users to recycle and divert rubbish fromlandfill
• We provide a sewage pump out service for yourholding tank
• We provide clean and convenient facilities so you donot have to use sea toilets
In the marina and on the water• Please be aware of wildlife, do not disturb marine life
or wildlife by causing excessive wash• Please avoid water pollution and use the facilities
provided ashore• Never throw rubbish overboard; facilities for rubbish
are located at each bridgehead for your convenience• Do not flush out or clean out bilge tanks into the
marina• If there is a leak of fuel or oil please notify marina staff
immediately as fuel spillage kits and procedures are inplace to help

Things To Do AshoreShopping: Lymington hosts a lively street market everySaturday in the main High Street with a number of stallscatering for all tastes. In addition there is a wide varietyof shops, galleries, boutiques, and a Waitrose, Tesco andM&S Food. The town centre is approx 10 minutes walkfrom the marina.
Walking: The marina has direct access to the CoastalFootpath offering superb walks along the foreshore toKeyhaven (approx an hour and a half walk) and HurstPoint where the Solent rushes in/out. There are alsonumerous other walks and a wide range of recreationalfacilities available throughout the New Forest NationalPark which surrounds the town.
Swimming: There is an open air pool just next to themarina which is normally open during the summermonths Tel: 01590 674865. In addition there are heatedpools at the Recreation Centre Tel: 01590 670333, a 15minutes walk away, and at Elmers Court Country Club Tel: 01590 676011, on the other side of the river near the WightLink ferry terminal. Also there is a Spa Complexat Careys Manor in Brockenhurst Tel: 01590 623551, 15 minutes on the train.
Cycling: Bike Hire can be arranged through New ForestExperience based in Brockenhurst Tel: 01590 624204.Delivery to the marina can be arranged, depending onthe number of bikes required.
Rackets: There are two tennis courts at Woodsidegardens, 5 minutes walk, and squash courts at theRecreation Centre and Elmers Court Country Club.
Golf: Walhampton Golf course is a 9-hole course in atranquil setting, bordered by woodland with viewsextending across the Solent to the Isle of Wight Tel:01590 689631.
Fishing Trips: We do not permit fishing in the marina,but fishing on the sea wall is popular with annualcompetitions. Daily fishing charter trips run from theTown Quay.
