The day-to-day life of our fellowship is the glue that holds our spiritual community together.Unitarian Universalism approaches the more "secular" aspects of fellowship life with thesame religious intent as it's worship. Our religious education classes, adult activitiesgroups, community volunteerism and building facilities committeesare essential aspects of our spiritual work. We believe it is ourdeeds, not our creeds, which are most important.

Every day we have people helping the Fellowship in ways thatallow our community to thrive. Whether you are a board member,on a committee, you make coffee, do dishes, vacuum, shovelsnow, rack leaves, plan a garden, help coordinate a service or you

do one of the other countless tasks, the time and talents you share is incredibly important forour Fellowship community. Please know you are immensely appreciated.

(Green Living on Behalf of Earth)UU-Lakeshore FellowshipEnvironment Committee

Our MissionPlan and coordinate activities at out fellowship including:

sustainable living practices at the facilityCommunity interactions

Ecological awareness of members and friends

Our committee was started in 2013..We are very grateful to be part of this LUUF community where it seems allour members are environmentalists…We have spent our first year together trying to understand how this com-mittee will fit into our fellowship and where it would be best to put our energy…

ACTIONS WE HAVE TAKEN TO FOLLOW OUR MISSION

Sustainable living practices at the facility: Members of our committee attended a workshop “Cool Congrega-tions” This workshop is a program to help congregations and their members reduce their carbon footprint. We are looking for ways to share what we have learned with our members and to bring some of the sustainablepractices into our homes and our congregation.Community interactions: Two of our members have agreed to be part of the Mayors Manitowoc SustainableCommittee. Our first event with this group will be at Manitowoc’s Earth Day Celebration. Our committee willhave a table at Earth Day, April 27th from 10 AM -2 PM…Ecological awareness of members & friends: Members of the committee have been writing “Green Tips” in ourweekly bulletin and also in the LUUF Newsletter. We are in the process of finding a speaker for our Sunday ser-vice to talk about climate change and how we, as a spiritual community, can respond. We are researching a curric-ulum from the UU Ministry for Earth…titled “Our Place in the Web of Life”, An Introduction to Environmen-tal Justice.

We are looking for people who would be interested in joining us at the Earth Day event April 26th

We will be at a table from 10 AM-2 PM, giving out material and talking with people about LUUF.
