Welcome!LUGI Handball is delighted that for the 36th consecutive year invite you

to the world’s largest indoor tournament in handball for youth players

– LUNDASPELEN – presented by Sparbanken Öresund.

One of Lund’s finest traditions is to welcome handball players at the

end of December. Since the beginning in 1978, over 100 000 partici-

pants from handball clubs all over the world have come to Lund to play

handball between Christmas and New Year. Lundaspelen has always

tried to provide a challenge for everyone and to encourage the top

teams we arrange an Elite tournament for 16-year-olds. Lundaspelen

stands for high quality with a well-tuned organization in terms of trans-

portation, accommodation, food and staff. We welcome all teams, both

old and new guests, to Lundaspelen.

Lundaspelen is not just handball – we look forward to provide you and

your team a unique experience with memories for life.

For this year’s tournament, we have opened up the junior class to

include 19-year-olds and introduced a one-day mini handball tourna-

ment played during Lundaspelen – Lundaspelen mini.

Special CategoriesSPECIAL CATEGORY

Lundaspelen tries very hard to make handball a sport open for all.

We offer a category aimed at young people with mental disabilities.

Players 15 years and upwards, mixed category for both boys and girls

(no wheelchairs allowed), played according to Lundaspelen regula-

tions. Please contact Lundaspelen for more information, or for more

specific questions regarding disability contact our partner, Lunds

WHEELCHAIR CATEGORY

Wheelchair handball is just like normal handball but it is played in

wheelchairs with adapted rules on an adapted court. Open for all ages.

All questions about the wheelchair category are answered by Carina

Lundaspelen’s headquarters The F&F Arena is the headquarters for Lundaspelen. Here you will

always find Lundaspelen’s staff to help you with everything you need,

good handball to see between matches, Lundaspelen shop with souve-

nirs and a great handball atmosphere. During the final day participants

gather here to see the finals and during the older categories it is usually

a full house with 2500 spectators in the stands

Elite tournament in G/B 16 categoriesWe invite and/or select 10 of the best teams in the G/B 16-catego-

ries. The 10 teams will be divided into two five-team groups from

which the best four teams will be qualified for the A-finals and the

fifth placed team will play in the B-finals. After the group play there

will be standard A- and B-final rounds. In the A-finals the teams from

the Elite tournament will be top-seeded. It is not possible to regis-

ter for the elite tournament but if you consider your team to be one

of the best teams in your region, please send in an application to

[email protected], and describe your team’s merits. We will con-

tact you for further discussion.

Lundaspelen mini – mini handballDuring Lundaspelen we will arrange Lundaspelen mini – a one-day

tournament in mini handball for 8-year-olds, boys and girls born 2005.

Mini Handball is played crosswise with a goalkeeper and four players.

Each team is guaranteed four scheduled matches of 1x15 min. Each

game ends with every player placing a penalty shot. We do not keep

score and there is no playoff. Up to 12 players in each team will receive

a medal – everyone is a winner! For more information, see the separate

Accommodation In the city of Lund we can provide excellent accommodation in class-

rooms. The schools are of a high standard in terms of ventilation,

heating and fire safety. Each school is staffed with personnel from

Lundaspelen who are there to help you. We also work with a number of

hotels in Lund, which enables us to offer price worthy alternative with

an even higher standard.

All accommodation alternatives include

• Accommodation 26th to the 30th December

• Free Wi-Fi in most schools

• Breakfast, lunch and dinner starting the evening of the 26th and ending

with breakfast on the 30th of December

• Lundaspelen card, which entitles to: free transportation with Lunda -

spelen buses and with the local buses in Lund and a subsidized

entrance to the First Division match played during the tournament.

Special category – 15 years or older

Wheelchair category

MATCH TIME All categories play 2x15 minutes. All participating teams

are guaranteed a minimum of five scheduled matches.

QUALIFICATION ROUNDS The teams are divided into groups of five

to six teams, where all teams meet. The top two teams per group will

be qualified for the A-finals (with the exception of the Elite Tournament)

while the remaining teams will play in the B-finals. The qualification

rounds are on the 27th and 28th of December.

FINAL ROUNDS The final rounds are played as a cup tournament. The

winner and the runner up of the A-final in each category will receive a

team prize along with individual prizes. The winning team in the A-final

also gets a free registration fee to Lundaspelen 2013. The winner of the

B-final in each category receives a team prize. The final rounds start

on the 29th of December and the final matches are played on the 29th

and 30th of December.

FEES G/B10-19 teams that buy accommodation pay 1200 SEK per

team in a registration fee. Teams that do not buy accommodation pay

1700 SEK per team. G/B9 teams pay 800 SEK regardless of accom-

modation.

SPECIAL RULES

• A club is allowed to enter more than one team in the same category.

• A player is only allowed to play in one team per category, that he or

she is entitled to enter.

• Girls are allowed to play in boys’ teams in the categories B9-B14.

• G/B12 and upward play on full size courts.

• Category G/B9 plays on whole courts as well, but not always on full

size courts.

• Handball paste (glue) is only allowed in categories G/B15-19. In G/B14

and younger, the use of handball paste is not allowed in accordance

with Swedish regulations.

WHICH TEAMS CAN PARTICIPATE?

– Club teams

– School and district teams outside Sweden

– Swedish district teams after approval by the organizer

– National teams after approval by the organizer

REGISTRATION is to be made online at www.lundaspelen.com no later than the

15th of November

CANCELLATIONS must be made by the 15th of November. If not, the organizer will

charge you a registration fee if it’s not already paid.

INFORMATION ON PAYMENT

Please note that:

– Registration fees must be paid in full no later than the 15th of November

– Paid registration fees will not be refunded

– Accommodation fees must be paid no later than the 1st of December

– Always use your registration-id as a reference for your payment

The organizer has the right to cancel registrations that are not fully paid on time.

A registration is not valid until the registration fee is paid.

Do note: International payments take very long to process and delays of
