STEWARDSHIPCORNER“This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” - JOHN 15:12-13Do you love Jesus? Do you consider Him your friend? Jesus says that if we love Him we would be willing to offer whatever we have to Him, not because we want praise and glory, but simply because we love Him. Does your giving seem mechanical out of obligation or do you share freely out of love?
SPACE IS AVAILABLE IN OUR CEMETERYInground burial plots are available in the west section of our cemetery. A single plot is 10’ X 5’ and costs $1,500. One full body or three cremains (or a combination) can be buried in a single plot. When visiting the cemetery, FOR YOUR SAFETY, please park on Range Line road or in the Lumen Christi parking lot. Do NOT park on Mequon road.
If you are considering an above ground burial, there is space available in our columbaria. Each niche costs $2,700 and holds up to two urns. Please see our cemetery brochure with information on both in-ground and above-ground burials. It can be found in the parish office or at lumenchristiparish.org/funeral.
To discuss your burial needs, please contact Jane Bartlett, Director of Finance, at [email protected] or Fran Blaubach, Parish Administrative Assistant, at [email protected] or at 262-242-7967.
PAY TRIBUTE TO FRIENDS AND LOVED ONE(S)A wonderful way to pay tribute to your friends and loved one(s) is by making a gift in their name to the Lumen Christi Memorial Fund, the Lumen Christi Helping Hand Fund, the Jennifer Bush Scholarship Fund, the Lumen Christi School Endowment Fund and/or the Lumen Christi Parish Endowment Fund. Please consider including a memorial gift to Lumen Christi Church or School in your will or estate plan. More information about these can be found on our giving page at www.lumenchristiparish.org/giving.
STEWARDSHIP OF TREASURE FISCAL 2021 YEAR-TO-DATE REPORTThe following is a summary of Lumen Christi’s Fiscal Year to Date Envelope & Offertory Contributions July 1st - April 31th as compared to the budget:

CHOOSING TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER
Love one another. The greatest commandment, the simplest
commandment — and if you’ve ever loved anyone, you know it’s also the hardest.
I’m man enough to admit it. I’ve seen one or two of those cheesy Hallmark movies that are especially popular around the holidays. Boy meets Girl. Boy and Girl encounter a catastrophic roadblock to their relationship — they’re coaches of rival high school volleyball teams, or he runs a dog kennel and she works at a feline rescue, so it could never, ever work out, right? But sprinkle a little movie magic over the whole situation and Boy and Girl find what Hallmark tells us is true love.
I could make a list of all the things that are inaccurate about these movies, and something I would put right near the top — maybe even above the sometimes-unbelievable storylines — is the idea that love is a feeling.
See, I’m not sure if it’s accurate to call these movies love stories. Attraction stories, sure. But if you’ve ever forgiven someone who’s hurt you, nursed a dying parent, gotten up for an infant’s night feeding or let your kid have the last piece of cake, you know that real love is a verb. It’s something you do. And it is almost always a choice.
Love one another. How often do we hear this? How often do we think about what it really means? How often do we take a moment to consider the action Jesus is asking us to take and the choice he is asking us to make?
OUR LADY OF FATIMAWe celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13. Mary appeared to three peasant children near Fatima, Portugal, six times between May 13 and October 13, 1917, and asked for prayers for world peace and an end to World War I, for sinners, and for the conversion of Russia. She entrusted the children with three secrets, regarding devotion to her Immaculate Heart, a vision of hell, and a “bishop in white” shot by soldiers firing bullets and arrows.
Diving into the beauty of the Faith has never been easier: at home, on the go, or from any interenet connected device. Discover thousands of books, audio talks, movies, documentaries, and studies... there is something for every member of the family to help them grow closer to Christ and His Church.
