Ready for the future
All started 50 years ago. At that time,MERO received the first order toconstruct an access floor for an IBMdata center.
Later, IBM was followed by manyfamous names like : SAP, VW, BMW,DHL, Sony, Honeywell, DELL, Sam-sung and many other important com-panies worldwide companies which
rely on the high quality and the yearsof experience of MERO data centeraccess floors. Nowadays we installmore than 100,000 m per year.
MERO has developed a new standardtogether with international active datacenter planners. A current project(nov. 2011) is a data center which willbe installed acc. to the new Standard
in Singapore. MERO has a separatetechnical division which is also in aposition to carry out ear thquake-proofapplications.

Our know-how for an operational data center
The heat which is generated during theoperation of computers must be conti-nuously, safely and cost-effectively re-moved whilst reducing any effect onour Natural Environment.
The specific requirements regardinguse and conductivity are the basis forthe choice of suitable floor coveringsto withstand the movement of serverracks, UPS and other equipment.

Our systems meet all your requirements
Larger floor heights, heavier racks andrequirements for ear thquake safetymust be considered.
Data centers are huge, closed buil-dings where easy access to the emer-gency exits is very important. The use of calcium sulphate core canbring enhanced fire-proofing and im-prove escape time for personel, alsoreduced Insurance Loss is like-ly should a wet sprinkler system be inplace.

The ventilation / cooling are essen-tial for the operation safety of the datacenter.
The most common system is the ac-cess floor with air plenum where thecold air is transported specifically tothe racks by means of perforated pa-nels. Higher and changing computingcapacity requires larger free cross-sections and adjustment for the airvolume.
In order to meet the specific require-ments, MERO offers a range of air con-ditioning panels with free cross-sectionsfrom 16% to 53%. This makes a pres-sure drop of 10 Pa air volumes up to2.200 m3 per panel and hour possible. In addition, we provide a continuouslyadjustable air flow control whichallows the fine-tuning from above.Contrary to aluminium bar type airgrills, racks etc. can be moved safelyon the MERO air conditioning panels.
The access floor also provides a phy-sical barrier if water-cooled systemsare being used with CRAC units, allsupply and waste lines as well as anycondensation are contained underthe cavity formed by the access floor,so that the data processors will notendangered in case of water leakage.

Increasing load capacity due to thedevelopment of racks with drawer-system (can be retrofitted on requestat place of location) , serial installation(always 2 load applications in onefield) and higher construction height(buckling length of pedestals) must beconsidered during the planning stage.
MERO-TSK meets load requirementsup to 15 KN by means of system tes-ting acc. to DIN EN 12825 and certifi-cate of conformity. Higher load requi-rements can be provided with furthercalculations. Specific customer re-quests such as calculation of seismicsafety can be provided by our techni-cal department. Depending on the
seismic zone in which the project shallbe executed, additional static require-ments must be met.

Standard panels of s teel, calcium sul-phate and chipboard as well as steelair conditioning panels are providedwith durable floor coverings whichmeet the required conductivity values.
Depending on the requirements, itcan be PVC, linoleum, rubber or highpressure laminate. In peripheral are-as even textile floor coverings can beused.
For the load application of dynamicloads not only the floor covering butalso the used adhesives are of deci-
sive importance in order to preventwave formation of the floor coveringcaused by the rolling loads. A personalconsultation is absolutely necessary.

The building material class require-ments must be met by the installedfloor systems. This applies also to thefire resistance classes.
