rejoignez la révolution lEdLe marché mondial de l’éclairage est à l’aube d’une transformation radicale du fait de l’émergence

d’une technologie de rupture, le Solid-State Lighting (SSL), dont la forme plus aboutie est la technologie

LED (Light-Emitting Diod). Forts de leurs atouts décisifs en matière d’éclairage, les produits et solutions

LED vont largement dominer le marché mondial d’ici quelques années.

Plus généralement, l’adoption de la LED fait basculer le secteur de l’éclairage dans le monde de

l’électronique et du numérique. Cette évolution majeure ouvre la voie à de nouvelles fonctionnalités et

de nouveaux usages de la lumière, créant autant de nouveaux marchés potentiels comme l’éclairage

intelligent ou les applications pour la santé et le bien-être. L’ampleur de cette révolution technologique

Join the lEd revolutionThe world lighting market is on the verge of massive transformation due to the emergence of a

breakthrough technology, Solid-State Lighting (SSL), whose most mature form is LED (Light-Emitting

Diode) technology. Thanks to their decisive lighting advantages, LED products and solutions are

expected to largely dominate the market in the coming years.

More generally, the adoption of LEDs is moving the lighting industry into the electronic and digital

technology sector. This major shift opens up possibilities for new light functionalities and usages,

thereby creating a multitude of new potential markets, such as smart lighting, or health and well-being

applications. The extent of this technological revolution will be comparable to that experienced by the

photography or music industries when digital technology arrived in these sectors, causing a profound

Lucibel est spécialisé dans la conception et la distribution de solutions

d’éclairage innovantes basées en particulier sur la technologie LED (Light-

Emitting Diod, ou diode électroluminescente). Nous nous concentrons

sur les segments du marché professionnel pour lesquels nos solutions

apportent une valeur d’usage maximale, à savoir les commerces et

CHR (Cafés, Hôtels et Restaurants), les bureaux et l’industrie, et enfin

les collectivités publiques. Au-delà des performances techniques et de

spécifiques à leur domaine d’activité et dont les bénéfices dépassent

Le marché de l’éclairage général LED devrait dépasser le seuil des 50 milliards

d’euros en 2020 contre 5 milliards d’euros en 2011, soit une croissance

annuelle moyenne de 30%. Les segments du marché professionnel de

l’éclairage général LED ciblés en priorité par le Groupe ont représenté un

marché de 4,7 milliards d’euros en 2013, et devraient dépasser les 12

milliards d’euros en 2017 soit une croissance annuelle moyenne de 27%

sur la période. Cette forte croissance s’accompagnera de l’émergence de

nouveaux marchés compte tenu des applications de la technologie LED

dans l’éclairage intelligent d’une part, et dans les domaines du bien-être

Lucibel specializes in the design and distribution of innovative lighting

solutions based in particular on Light-Emitting Diode (LED) technology.

We focus on the professional market segments where our solutions can

contribute maximum use value, i.e. retail, hotels and restaurants, offices

and industry, and finally, public authorities. In addition to guaranteeing

technical performance and energy efficiency, we design specific solutions

for our customers’ business sectors whose benefits go way beyond lighting

The general LED lighting market is expected to exceed the 50 billion euro

mark in 2020 versus 5 billion euros in 2011, generating an average annual

growth of 30%. Within this sector, the professional market segments

targeted in priority by the Group represented a 4.7 billion euro market in

2013, and should exceed 12 billion euros in 2017, representing an average

annual growth of 27% over that period. This strong growth will also be

supported by the emergence of new markets, given the applications for

LED technology in both the smart lighting and the health and well-being

sectors.

Le département Recherche et Développement

(R&D) de Lucibel a pour mission de maximiser la

valeur d’usage de ses solutions pour les clients

du Groupe, d’une part en améliorant leur

qualité et performances techniques, et d’autre

part en développant de nouveaux usages et

bénéfices.

Répartis entre le laboratoire de Saint-Clair (Isère),

les équipes Développement Produit à Rueil

(Hauts-de-Seine) et Test & Pré-Industrialisation

à Shenzhen (Chine), les ingénieurs et

Lucibel’s Research and Development (R&D)

department works hard to maximize the use

by both improving their quality and technical

performances, and developing new usages and

Working in the Saint-Clair Laboratory (Isère,

France), the Product Development team in

Rueil (Hauts-de-Seine, France) and the Test &

Pre-Industrialization team in Shenzhen (China),

Lucibel’s engineers and technicians focus their

efforts on three main areas: technical innovation

(studying new materials and components,

developing new technical solutions), product

innovation (the electronics sector offers many

possibilities for new lighting functionalities and

applications), and finally, intellectual property

extension and protection. Lucibel completes

these internal skills with partnerships with

renowned research institutions, such as the

LAPLACE laboratory (CNRS).

partie de ses produits à Flextronics, l’un des

électronique (EMS ou Electronic Manufacturing

Services). Cet accord permet au Groupe de

concession sur la qualité des produits. Lucibel

garde en effet la maîtrise de la conception

et du développement de ses produits, et la

relation avec les fournisseurs stratégiques. En

complément de l’atelier de Procédés Hallier,

situé en région parisienne, Lucibel assemblera

à compter de juillet 2014 ses produits à plus

forte valeur ajoutée en France, dans son usine

de Barentin (Haute Normandie). Ceci permettra

à Lucibel de se rapprocher de ses clients et de

leur proposer encore plus de possibilités de

customisation et de solutions sur-mesure.

Lucibel entrusts the assembly of a large portion

of its products to Flextronics, one of the world

leaders in Electronic Manufacturing Services

(EMS). This agreement allows the Group to

handle the growth of its business without

making any product quality concessions.

Lucibel thus controls its product design and

development, and its relationships with

strategic suppliers. In addition to the Procédés

Hallier workshop located in the Paris area,

Lucibel will assemble from July 2014 its most

value added products in France in its Barentin

(Normandy) plant. This will enable Lucibel to

be closer to its customers and offer them even

more customization and tailor-made solutions.

couvrir l’ensemble des besoins d’éclairage de ses clients, tout en laissant

la possibilité de concevoir des solutions spécifiques au travers du choix des

produits mis en œuvre, des diverses options proposées ou des adaptations

ou créations réalisées sur-mesure.

Quelle que soit la nature du projet ou des besoins de ses clients, Lucibel

propose un accompagnement en amont au travers de prestations comme

le diagnostic éclairage, la création de concept lumineux ou la scénarisation

des espaces. Une fois l’installation réalisée, Lucibel peut assurer la

maintenance de ces installations et toute adaptation ultérieure nécessaire.

Cette approche service trouve sa forme ultime dans l’offre de Citéclaire,

l’entité du Groupe dédiée aux collectivités publiques, qui propose une offre

de location / financement / entretien des installations d’éclairage sur longue

durée. Ce modèle d’opérateur de service d’éclairage sera bientôt proposé

aux clients Grands Comptes, afin de leur assurer une gestion optimale et

homogène de l’ensemble de leurs points de vente ou sites d’exploitation.

new lighting technologies and its ability to integrate them in its products

and global solutions, its understanding of the needs and problems in

range was thus developed to cover all of its customers’ lighting needs,

while still maintaining the option to design specific solutions through the

selection of products to be installed, the various options proposed, or

tailor-made adaptations and creations.

Whatever its customers’ projects or needs, Lucibel can provide upstream

support with services such as lighting diagnoses, the creation of lighting

concepts, or the staging of spaces. Once an installation is complete,

Lucibel can perform the maintenance required and any necessary future

adaptations. The most complete illustration of this service approach is the

offer of Citéclaire, the Group’s entity dedicated to public authorities, who

proposes an offer featuring long-term rental / financing / servicing for

lighting installations. This lighting service operator model will also soon be

offered to our Key Account customers, to help them guarantee optimum,

uniform management of all of their sales outlets or operating sites.

Lucibel compte sur l’extension de sa force de vente et l’élargissement de

sa présence internationale pour surperformer la croissance organique du

marché de l’éclairage LED. C’est en France que l’organisation commerciale

de Lucibel est actuellement la plus importante, mais le Groupe met en

œuvre depuis sa création une stratégie de développement ambitieuse à

l’international. Ainsi Lucibel couvre déjà commercialement près de 30 pays

au travers de ses diverses implantations commerciales et de ses partenaires

distributeurs. Le Groupe a l’ambition d’accroitre progressivement sa

présence internationale en ouvrant chaque année de nouveaux pays, selon

une approche pragmatique et entrepreneuriale.

une stratégie de consolidation du secteur européen du luminaire

Qualifiée de build-up, cette stratégie consiste à capitaliser sur le cœur

technologique de Lucibel pour fédérer un certain nombre d’acteurs du

secteur de taille trop modeste pour faire face seuls à la révolution LED,

mais disposant d’une expertise technique complémentaire ou d’une

implantation commerciale reconnue sur les segments de marché ou zones

géographiques ciblés par Lucibel. Ce type de cibles existe en particulier

dans le secteur du luminaire qui est très fragmenté en Europe. Fort de

sa maîtrise des nouvelles technologies de l’éclairage et de sa visibilité

croissante, Lucibel a toute légitimité pour jouer un rôle de fédérateur

au sein du secteur. Depuis sa création, Lucibel a déjà procédé à cinq

acquisitions dont les deux dernières en date, les sociétés françaises Cordel

et Procédés Hallier, sont emblématiques de sa stratégie ciblée.

a fast-expanding international footprint

Lucibel is counting on the extension of its sales force and the

strengthening of its international presence to outperform the organic

growth of the LED lighting market. Lucibel currently has its largest sales

organization in France, but the Group has been deploying an ambitious

international growth strategy since its creation. Thus, Lucibel’s commercial

network already covered nearly 30 countries via its various sales entities

and distributor partners. The Group intends to progressively expand its

international footprint by entering new countries each year, in accordance

with a pragmatic and entrepreneurial approach.

the ambition to consolidate the European lighting sector

Lucibel’s «build-up» strategy consists in capitalizing on its core technology

to federate a certain number of players in the sector, who are individually too

small to face the LED revolution alone, but who can offer complementary

technical expertise or a recognized sales position in the market segments

or geographic areas targeted by Lucibel. This type of player exists in

particular in the highly fragmented European lighting market. Thanks to

its expertise in new lighting technologies and its growing visibility, Lucibel

has full legitimacy to play a federating role within the sector. Lucibel has

already carried out five acquisitions since its creation, among which the

most recent ones, the French companies Cordel and Procédés Hallier,

perfectly illustrate this targeted strategy.
