BRAKE DISC SURFACE Examination of Brake discs surface for grooves and cracks Fig. 1 shows 4 different types of wear Cracks resembling a net are allowed.
a) Cracks on the braking surface with maximum width and depth of 1.5 mm are allowed, as long as they are not exceeding 75% of the braking surface.
b) Grooves on the braking surface are allowed if they are not deeper than 1.5mm
c) Brake discs with cracks going all the way through
the braking surface have to be replaced per axle. WEAR DIMENSION The brake discs maximum wear dimension is imprinted on the outer diameter. Fig 2 when the minimum thickness (TH) is reached, discs have to be replaced per axle. DISC IMBALANCE A maximum disc imbalance of 0.15 mm is allowed
