Radio Resource Manager is set of algorithms handling radio resources = how to handle resources (example better cell algorithm, A3 case)
• Algorithms are parametrized by different constant and thresholds, what to do specifically (example do handover towards better cell if the new cell is better than a3Offset=5dB for at least a3TimeToTrigger=1280ms.

Parameter Explain & Additional Sources of Info
•LTE P3 Enabling Material from Network Engineeringhttps://sharenet-ims.inside.nokiasiemensnetworks.com/Open/415401605Power point with RL10 features, dimensioning issues, partly about parameters.
•3GPP Specifications (36.xxx series) – quite a lot of parameters are coming from there. Specific standards are referred by parameter dictionary and by other documents in case the parameter is coming from standard. The standard however is not systematic reading about parameters.
•System Feature Specifications in DOORSReference documentation of Radio Access - algorithms and features including parameters. Word or pdf documents. Rather not for first reading about parameters.Basic info about DOORS on link:https://inside.nokiasiemensnetworks.com/global/MyServices/IT/Applications/Nokia_cross-usage_applications/NokiaProductProcess/doorsapplication/Pages/DOORS.aspx

Parameter Increments and LTE Releases
•Different sets of LTE eNB parameters exist due to different SW increments
•Which parameter increment is for which LTE Release?
•Increment 18 corresponds RL09
•When specification is done for Inc 21 also parameters coming to Inc 21 which is for RL10.
•But there is plan to made so called output release for RL09 and RL10 based on mentioned releases.
•If one want to see/have all parameters for specific SW version/increment, best way is to export parameter in excel format out.

Organization around parameters
•Parameters are generated/created as per increments.
•Parameter database contains different increments – example inc 18 (RL09)

Parameter list and parameter manipulation
Excel with parameters as created and downloaded from PDB -> SW increment 18, status 18022010
Parameter manipulation –> Parameter to be accessible by NetAct OSS (in commercial versions). Manipulation of parameter during trials depends on how are arranged by PL, mostly means edit & upload xml files.

Sumary of parameters in LTE eNB
• 454 Parameters are currently defined in PDDB Tool (February 2010)
– Increment 18 (release RL09)
– Parameter have still comments like draft, proposal, quite a minimum is approved.
•Parameter breakdown according– Related function in RRM
– Handling changes on the network – do we need restart?

How about parameter manipulation?
• Not modifiable (144)
• On line (64)
• eNB restart needed (246)

Open issues & conclusion remarks
•Follow parameters evolution to update parameter material with the output releases and keep in mind still feasible differences of SFS, data fill and PDB.
•LTE eNB parameter data fill definitely need consultancy and support from PL in case of trials.
• LTE is becoming more practical and there is no control of what everything is happening. It would be good if everybody would keep us informed or upload that kind of information within the Project uploads folder •https://sharenet-ims.inside.nokiasiemensnetworks.com/Open/384615001
•But that is not very often case. Thus, it is good practice to send questions and queries on the LTE Forum:•https://sharenet-ims.inside.nokiasiemensnetworks.com/livelink/livelink?func=ll&objId=383269311&objAction=view&sort=ordering&viewType=1

• Project uploads are an essential input for community members and the best way to share learning
• Interesting project documents (guides, test/trial results, customer presentation) should be uploaded and shared
• Every community member has upload rights to IMS
