Keys to WAESO LSAMP Faculty Paradigm

Spe partum (Latin for Create Hope)

WAESO is a facilitator, faculty are the creators

Communication is more than words

Develop students from year one and you will soon have graduate students to recruit

Learn to learn

Mario Zamora left his hometown of Houston to attend ASU on a full-ride scholarship. Although Zamora comes from a family of doctors he went to school and obtained a degree in biomedical engineering program and saw a new window into STEM.

EPICS team 33 Buckets faced stiff competition as one of five finalists—and just two undergraduate teams—in the worldwide Dell Social Innovation Challenge. On Tuesday night, winners were announced and graduate student teams Essmart took first place, Humanure took second and Nanoly took third. Going into the competition, 33 Buckets was the top undergraduate team in the United States out of over 1,700 entries.
