The year long untiring efforts of all LPG personnel have now been put to the final test and everyone is leaving no stone p f y gunturned towards the realisation of this ultimate objective. Our best wishes to all the members of Team LPG for their final assault.
Come this time of the year, and it is time for the Festival of Colours – Holi. This colourful festival is celebrated on PhalgunPurnima which generally falls in February end or early March. The festival of Holi has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of 'good' over 'bad'. The colourful festival bridges the social gap and renews relationships. On this day, people hug and wish each other 'Happy Holi'.
Holi celebration begins with the lighting up of bonfire on Holi eve. Numerous legends & stories associated with Holi celebration make this festival even more exuberant and vivid. People rub 'gulal' and 'abeer' on each others' faces and cheer up saying "bura naa maanoabeer on each others faces and cheer up saying, bura naa maanoHoli hai". People also convey their love and affection to their loved ones in the form of special Holi gifts. Holi is also known as Phagwah in Assam (Assamese: ফাkৱা) , as Doḷajātra in Orissa (Oriya: େଦାଳଯାtା) and as DolJatra in West Bengal andAssam (Bengali: েদালযাtা) .
