Greetings from your Governor - Carl Crayton
I'm sure you get tired of me talking about volunteering and helping around your Lodge. After all we're just a Fraternal Organization. Oh, wait a minute. I meant to say that's exactly why you should be volunteering and getting involved. We are a group of volunteers and it takes more than 25 to 30 people to run your Lodge. It truly amazes me how most of you can come in day after day, week af-ter week and do nothing. You think your dues, which we get $14 a year, makes it ok to do nothing. I'm extremely disappointed in you if that's the case. On the other hand, to you men and women who always step up and get things done, Thank You for all you do and for being a true Fraternalist. Thank you to the WOTM Officers and volunteers for all your hard work. Make sure your read the WOTM Newsletter Article. They have some wonderful things planned the rest of the year. Thank you to the Moose Riders for stepping up and taking over the first Friday Night Dinner and all your hard work and money raised for Charity. Thank you to all our Bingo Volunteers. You are the lifeblood of our Lodge and a shining example of what it means to be a Moose Member. Thank You, Carl

Well, it is that time of year again. And what time would that be? FOOTBALL! GO SEMI-NOLES! Time for our famous football parties, so come on out to your Lodge to cheer on your team and have some cold adult beverages to boot.
If you have not been getting the Newsletter emailed to you “READ THIS”.
There are a lot of our members who are not receiving our Newsletter each month by email. It
has been frustrating and I can tell you that myself and our new Newsletter Editor, Karen High-
tower are on a mission to get this corrected. We want every member who wants to receive the
emailed newsletter to get one. Our current email process and email groups were in need of a
major clean up and we are doing it. This is an ongoing project with many steps that have to
happen timely and continuously by all involved. We have worked diligently many, many hours
update the email groups and procedures. In going through out Moose International Member
Database and our Newsletter Database, approximately 300 members email addresses were not
in our Newsletter Database groups. About 50 or 60 of these addresses were bad, so it is im-
portant for you to let us know if your email address changes. I sent out an email to approxi-
mately 240 members to what I hope is a good email address with the August Newsletter at-
tached. This was sent out Saturday and Sunday, August 25 & 26. These same members have
been added to our Newsletter database and should get the September Newsletter. As stated
this is a big project (being worked on by volunteers) and will take time. It should be completed
within the next month. If you are not receiving and want the Newsletters emailed to you we most
likely do not have a correct email address for you. Please send an email to:

TALLAHASSEE 1075 MOOSE LEGION COMMITTEE
Did you know? The Moose Legion or Degree of Service was created by resolution in Cincin-nati, Ohio and adopted by the Supreme Council in 1913. The Moose Legion initially committed to building a one-million-dollar Endowment Fund. They went on to provide funds to purchase the First Dairy Herd and funded construction on the First Building Loyalty Hall in 1914. Shortly after the West Legion Hall in 1917 and the Fez Hall in 1921. They have provided funds to help with nearly every major project since then. This is just a small sample of what the Moose Legion has done. The Moose Legion would love to have you join us at the Lodge on the 1
st Monday of each month at 6:30 PM. As a fundraiser, we cur-
rently have pecans, spreads, and preserves for sell in Bingo on Fridays and Sundays or to purchase at any other time see Carl, Pat, Deeters, Jr. or most any Moose Legionaire. Our next meeting will be Labor Day Monday at 6:30 PM. See you there. Pat Patterson Moose Legion Chairman Tallahassee Moose Lodge 1075
