CHURCH NEWS AND NOTICES 4/17/16 We welcome guests to our worship today. We hope that you will share in the fellowship time between our worship services. Please sign one of our guest books located at the entrances to the sanctuary. Visitors: If you would like more information about Dennis Union Church, please fill out a guest card in the pew rack and place it in the offering plate. Please join us for refreshments in Fellowship Hall. Take a red cup so that we may greet you. Members: Greet someone carrying a red cup and introduce them to our church community.

Today's altar flowers are given by

Marjorie Beyler “In loving memory of my husband,

Arthur.”

For your convenience, our Crib Room is located directly off the sanctuary. In observance of Patriots’ Day, the church offices will be closed tomorrow, Monday, April 18. Another reason why buying D-YECH Food Cards is so helpful. Ethan and his wife are expecting their first child in April. They currently rent a basement but have located a unit in Hyannis better suited for a child. They have savings but needed a little more to cover rent for February until Ethan goes back to work in March. They were approved for $500.00 towards that expense.

150th Anniversary Tea

Tickets are on sale for our 150th Anniversary Tea on Saturday, April 30, at 2:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $5.00 each. You will sip specially-blended tea provided by History Tea Presenters – Donna and Ron Lasko of Courtship

Tea, and enjoy the delicious afternoon tea treats provided by our committee members!

Donna and Ron will also share their Romance of Hats program with us. Tickets can be purchased during fellowship hour or from Nancy in the office during the week. If you have questions, please call Betty Boothe at 774-330-2191 One Great Hour of Sharing: We’re a little late getting started, but One Great Hour of Sharing is one of our big annual offerings to the UCC. You will find a flyer and an offering envelope inserted in this bulletin. You will notice that nearly all of the money donated goes directly to disaster relief and assistance for people needing to rebuild their lives.

Church World Service School Kits: The Youth will be assembling school kits. If you are able to donate any of the following items, bring them to church Sundays through April: BLUNT-tipped children’s scissors, 70-count bound notebooks (NO looseleaf paper, please), 12” ruler, hand-

held pencil sharpener, a large eraser, new-unsharpened pencils, box of 24-count crayons.

Socks for the Homeless: The Youth are also collecting NEW socks for men and women. Please see the collection bucket in Fellowship Hall. Social Concerns: our next Faith Neighborhood Meal is this Friday, April 22. If you can donate a food item, or assist in the kitchen, or help serve the meal, please see Cindy.
