Introduction
There are many benefits you get by adding subclasses to your character:
Enjoy playing different classes without making a new char No need to level them from scratch (they begin at level 40)
Help your friends, clan and alliance with a class other than your main class
Have a class to aid some of your other characters or make it easier to do activities such as farming, questing, raiding and so on
Improve the efficiency of your character’s main class by utilizing the subclass certification system
This guide is going to cover the last of these points and provide you with
detailed information about the subclass certification system, available subclass skills and their exact effect bonuses.
You can use the Table of Contents at the beginning to jump straight to a
topic of interest or read the guide from start to finish. I suggest doing the latter at least once if you’re not experienced with the subclass certification
system.
Once you get accustomed with subclass skills, it’s time to consider which ones are going to be most helpful for your character. This depends on
whether or not you have taken any subclasses already, the server you play on, your level of experience and not the least – your short and long
term targets in Lineage 2.
All that is out of the scope of this guide, but I have a separate guide which gives you
subclass skill combinations for all classes in the game, for any possible situation you may
face.
That guide has been created after thorough testing and following expert advice from the
top players around the globe who have shared their ultimate builds. The end result is
a one-of-a-kind guide that leaves no questions unanswered.
It’s called Optimal Subclass Skills for Each
Class and you can find out more about it here:
Optimal Certification Skills Guide for All Classes
So without further delays, let’s get right down into what the subclass certification system is, how to take advantage of it and then proceed with
details about the skills themselves.

5 Lineage 2 Subclass Certification System Guide | www.Lineage2Universe.com
Subclass Certification Basics
You can learn new skills on your main class depending on the type of subclasses you have taken and leveled up. This is done by using subclass
certificate items which can be acquired from the appropriate Grand Master NPC for your subclass and then used to learn skills at the Transformation
Wizard Avant-Garde NPC on the 2nd floor (Human floor) in Ivory Tower.
In order to be able to do that though, you must first complete the quest “More Than Meets the Eye” which can be taken from NPC Hardin at
Hardin's Private Academy (teleport available from, Giran, Oren and Hunters Village). This needs to be done only once per character.
There is a maximum of 4 skills available per subclass and how many of
them you can learn depends on the level of your subclass. The different certificates can be acquired once you have reached the following levels on
your subclass:
Level 65 – 1st Emergent Ability certificate Level 70 – 2nd Emergent Ability certificate
Level 75 – choose between Class-Specific Ability or Master Ability certificate (can’t take both at once for the same subclass)
Level 80 – Divine Transformation Ability sealbook
This means that you can learn a total of 12 subclass skills once all 3 of your subclasses have reached level 80.
Optimal Lineage 2 Subclass Skills for Each Class
Removing and resetting subclass skills
Deleting a subclass to reroll a new one will not erase the subclass skills
you've already learned, but you won't be able to acquire certificates for the levels of your subclass that you’ve used before on your previous sub.
E.g., you’ve learned two Emergent skills from certificates for levels 65 and
70 of your subclass, and then you cancel that subclass to reroll a new one. Now you cannot acquire Emergent Ability certificates for level 65 and 70
anymore unless you remove your previous subclass skills.
There is no option to choose which skills to remove – you either remove
all of them or none. This is done by paying 10 million adena to the Avant-
Garde NPC.
Any certificate items which you haven't used up yet are deleted when you
choose to remove your subclass skills. Certificate items cannot be traded so there is no way to preserve them during subclass skills removal.

Subclass categories
Subclasses are broadly categorized as Warrior, Rogue, Knight, Summoner,
Wizard, Healer and Enchanter. Each class in the game falls to one of these 7 categories, as follows:
Warrior: Warlord, Gladiator, Destroyer, Tyrant, Bounty Hunter,
Warsmith, Berserker, Soul Breaker (Male), Soul Breaker (Female) Rogue: Hawkeye, Silver Ranger, Phantom Ranger, Arbalester,
Treasure Hunter, Plainswalker, Abyss Walker Knight: Paladin, Dark Avenger, Temple Knight, Shillien Knight Summoner: Warlock, Elemental Summoner, Phantom Summoner
Wizard: Sorcerer, Necromancer, Spellsinger, Spellhowler
Healer: Bishop, Elven Elder, Shillien Elder
Enchanter: Prophet, Swordsinger, Bladedancer, Warcryer, Overlord,
Inspector (Male), Inspector (Female)
Which Class-Specific and Divine Transformation skills you can learn on
your main class depend on the categories of your subclasses, while Emergent and Master abilities are available to you regardless of category.
Skills list and effects
What follows is a complete list of available skills, with their exact effects
and bonuses.
Emergent Abilities
These skills are available regardless of the category your subclass falls to.
Emergent abilities can be stacked up, with a maximum of skill level 6 if
you chose to learn the same skill from both 65 and 70 certificates for each of your 3 subclasses. E.g., you get 6 Emergent Ability certificates from all
your subs and use all of them to learn the Defense skill. In the end you get Lv6 of the Defense skill.
Note: The increase amounts for each skill level in the tables down below
are pre-calculated. E.g. Lv2 of the Attack skill gives +42 P. Atk. overall increase and not 22 (lv1 bonus) + 42.

Divine Transformation skills
Once you’re level 80 on a subclass you can acquire a seal book of transformation. Just like certificate books, it is given by the appropriate
Grand Master NPC for your subclass. You can then use the seal book to learn the transformation skill at the Avant-Garde NPC.
Divine Transformations follow the same rules as regular transformations.
This means you cannot use your regular class skills, your subclass skills remain active, your stats are determined by your equipment and the class
type of the Divine Transformation in use.
Optimal Lineage 2 Subclass Skills for Each Class
Casting & Reuse Time, Sacrifice Skill and Transformation level
The casting time for each Divine Transformation is 2.5 seconds unbuffed
and each transformation lasts 30 minutes, with a cooldown/reuse time of 3 hours.
Each Divine Transformation has its own specific sacrifice skill. All sacrifice
skills bring your HP and MP down to zero for a certain amount of time during which you can't be healed through skills or potions. The sacrifice
skill usage conditions depend on the type of your subclass:
Fighter-type subclasses - 30% or lower HP Mystic-type subclasses - 10% or lower MP.
Each transformation can be learned up to level 3 if you have more than
one subclass of the same type. Higher levels of transformation increase the effectiveness of your abilities.
E.g., you have 2 Warrior-type subclasses and they're level 80, thus you can learn the Warrior Divine Transformation up to level 2. If you have 3
Warrior-type subclasses, the transformation learned can go up to level 3.
