A Context for Planning
12
Planning for: Multiple Career Paths
Know that you will need to:
Determine hiring needs and work with your district Human Resource (HR) Department regarding hiring issues
Determine areas of expertise needed for master and mentor teachers, recognizing critical decisions with selection of individuals in these positions.
Plan the interview process
13
Planning for: Ongoing Applied Professional Growth Cluster Groups and SchedulesKnow that you will need to:
Determine the cluster configuration and be able to justify your reason for the specific configuration
Determine a master schedule aligned to the cluster needs
14
Planning for: Instructionally Focused Accountability
Know that you will need to:
Make plans to attend the 5 day TAP training in the summer and let your LT know about this requirement.
Understand that Year One is a practice year, where you will be trained to evaluate. During the year the LT will be learning the TAP rubrics and participating in practice evaluations to establish team inter-rater reliability.
15
Planning for:Performance-Based Compensation
Know that you will need to:
Determine a master teacher addendum and a mentor teacher addendum.
Determine an amount per teacher for the performance-based incentive award. ( Note: your district usually makes this decision.)
Remember, performance-based incentives are paid after the second year of TAP implementation, not during the first year.
