Much of Baton Rouge is extremely flat and the drainage can be poor, so during rainy weather many areas quickly flood, meaning that driving in heavy rain can be hazardous. Rain is not unusual in Baton Rouge and falls evenly throughout the year, although rainy weather is often short and quickly vanishes.

Sports FansSports FansThe stadium, nicknamed "Deaf Valley" for its excruciating levels of sound, is legendary for the crowd noise generated by fans. It is the sixth largest college football stadium in the nation, holding 92,400 fans. The Tiger Stadium atmosphere is generally considered one of the loudest and most electrifying college football experiences in the country.

In the legendary "Earthquake Game" against Auburn in 1988 the crowd's roar registered on a seismograph, shaking the ground as much as a small earthquake.
