When funding from the Foreign Mission Board was not sufficient to provide addi- tional works for Moon’s lonely and arduous mis- sion in Pingtu, China, Lottie loaned the Board $1,000 to help support a new missionary. The sum is equivalent to about $25,000 today. She began writing letters challenging the church back here to send and support more workers to go there. After her death on the field, her chal- lenge was heeded in the formalization of an offer- ing in her name. Her life is a reminder of why we must give to send and support missionaries serving among unreached peoples in unreached places.
