As the Head of the Departrnent of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering it is with greatpleasure that I write this letter ofrecotrunendation for SIJRYATEJA.

I have known SURYATEJA for the last three years (2011-2013) as a student of Electrical and Electronics EngineeringDepartment. I took Electrical machines for him in 4th and 5th semester al Amrita University. I was there for theirElectrical Machines Laboratory also. He was much disciplined during the lab-work and I was content with his capability tograsp and perceive new conc€pts. I have also guided him in his pursuit for aoadernio nrerit. Having a good associetion withhirn" I have had a very positive impression on him and I find him very promising.

The quality which I find inherent in him is his enthusiastic work culture. He is always diligent and assiduous when itcomes to work and he always fast facks every piece of work assigned to him. I am very sure that this integral part ofhimwhich makes him strive for perfection will help him achieve success. He has good industrial exposure as he has done hisin-planr uaining irr Robefi Bosch(BangalorE) and Kerala $ate ElecEicity Board subshlion(Palakkad). Through lhesetraining sessions he has understood the practical applications of subjects he leamt.

Surya Teja's final year projea deals with the development of DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Machine) for variable speed

purnp in motoring and generating modes and this has given him an opportrmity to expand his knowledge base on electricalmachiles, control systems and power electronics. It also involves programming a micro controller and developing ofsuitablc control algorithms. He has chosen a very challorging project and I have scen rnany control stategies which he

developed along with his team for speed control ofDFIM using either speed correction or power correction as inputs to a

PI controller.

He also gives importance to the development of society and participated and organized the Amala Bharatham Clean up

Drive, wlrere ttrc students of Anrita oleaned tlre public roads and bus ststds to €r€at€ ewq{€oess finong the p€ople about

health and hygiene. He is very passionate about plalng Hockey, RolloSkating and Skateboarding. He is very pragmatic

and resporsible. He represented his departrnent in various competitions.

I would be exbemely delighted if he could be given an opporhrnity to pusue his education in yow institution which I

helped him acquire a laudable amount of knowledge on electrical machines, control systems and power
