Jason Lorber for Mayor30 Day Prior to Caucus Disclosure Report BurlingtonValues.com Burlington, VT -- Oct. 20, 2011 This report focuses on cash contributions and expenditures. All in-kind contributions will be disclosed prior to the caucus. Jason Lorber’s Campaign Disclosure Report Note from Mario Piscatella Campaign Manager of Friends of Jason / Jason Lorber for Mayor802-310-8265 or mario@burlingtonvalues. com All four Democrats running for Mayor talked about the need to restore trust, fiscal stability and transparency to the Mayor's office in last night’s debate. Only one has made it clear that those aren't just words, they are core values he believes and practices in all aspects of his life. In a demonstration of such, we are proud to go above and beyond the disclosure required by law with regard to the campaign's finances. According to Burlington and state laws, there is no disclosure required of candidates for may or until 10 days prior to Town Meeting Day. This means that there is NO required disclosure prior to the Democratic Caucus on Sun., Nov. 13. We are starting with a 30 day prior to Caucus report, through October 14th, 2011. We received contributions from 119 individuals, businesses and organizations totaling $19,305.83. This includes a carry-forwar d from Jason's legislative campaign account of $2593. Of the new contributions, 30 came from Burlington individuals, organizations and businesses, 73 in total came from the state of Vermont, 45 came from other states, and 1 came from London, England (a US Citizen working abroad). State law requires that all contributors over $100 be disclosed by name, all contributors $100 and under retain the privilege of privacy. We have asked our donors to forgo that privacy and disclose their contributio ns regardless of the amount. Most agreed, some have not yet responded to our request, eight have requested we not release their names for a variety ofreasons. Those eight contributions total $286. Among the remaining donors, you will find a sampling of Jason's family, friends, classmates, co-workers, constituents and community activi sts. As any candidate can tell you, fund raising is one of the worst parts of campaigning , “call time” is akin to punishment, being forced to sit in a chair and call everyone you know and ask them for money. Time spent asking for money is time away from talking to voters, and candidates hate that. On the other side we have expenditures of $5,387.88. Paying for things like postage, online ads, office supplies, pizza, voter file access, credit card fees and the guy writing this release. 32 Contributors plus the Carry Forward were in excess of $100, 86 at or under $100 including one under $1.00 (yes, someone gave Jason the 83 last cents in their pocket). # # #
