WhoWeAre

NextStepMinistriesiscommittedtohelpingstudentsgrowclosertoChristthroughalife-changing,weeklongmissiontrip.Studentshavetheopportunitytoworkonchallengingconstructionprojectsandcomealongsideinspiringcommunityleaders,meetingthetrueneedsofthecommunity.Eachprojectispickedwithanunwaveringcommitmenttopartneringwithandempoweringfamilies,schools,andthelocalchurch.Theseprojectsareapartofamuchlargervisionoftransformationproducingreal,sustainablechangewithinacommunity.Weworkontheseprojectsweekafterweek,yearafteryear,sostudentsknowthey’repartofarealchange.

Intheeveningsstudentsparticipateineveningprogramming,whichincludesinteractivemessages,creativevideoteachings,andpowerfulworshipmusicencouragingthemtodigdeeperandtakethenextstepintheirfaith.Intheprocess,studentscreateunforgettablememoriesandfriendshipswhileworshipingandgrowingtogetherinGod’sname.

NextStepleadssustainablebuildingprojectsinmultiplecommunitiesaroundtheworld,addressingthegreatestneedsineachcommunity.Ourworkisonlypossiblethroughdeeplyrootedpartnershipswithcommunitymembers,missionaries,andthelocalchurch.Theseprojectssignificantlyimpactthephysicallivesofeachfamilyweworkwith,whileenablingustobuildrelationshipsandlovelikeChristcallsustointheprocess.Fornineweeksduringthesummer,youwillleadone-weeklife-changingmissiontripsinasinglecommunityforjuniorhighandhighschoolstudentsfromacrossthecountry.

NextStepwascreatedwiththeintentionsandcommitmenttoservealongsidecommunitiesinawaythatisdignifyingtothoselivingthere.Westriveforeachprojecttobeapartnership.Whetherwearebuildinganentirenewhomeforafamily,puttinganewroofonahouse,flooring,siding,buildingadeck,orworkingonacommunitycenter,weseektoinvestintoarelationshipthatfosterssustainablechangeinthecommunity.Throughtrustingrelationships,weareabletolistenandbeledbylocalleadersknowingthatthetruephysicalneedsofthecommunitywillbemet.You,aswellasstudentsareleftknowingwe’vereallymadeanimpact-holisticallytransformingthecommunitiesweworkalongside.OurImpact

WhatToExpect

YoursummerwithNextStepwillbeginwithanintenseweekoftraininginMadison,Wisconsin.Duringtraining,youwillgettoknowyourteam,learnthedetailsoftheprogram,andgainabetterunderstandingofthecommunityyouwillbeservingwith.Ourgoalduringtrainingistoinstillconfidencewithinyousoyoufeelpreparedandequippedforyoursummeronsite.Aftertrainingweek,youwillheadofftothecommunityyouwillcallhomeforthesummer.Dependingonifthesiteisdomesticorinternational,youwillflyordrivewithyourteam.Onceyouarrive,youwillhaveaweektogetsettledinandbecomeacquaintedwiththecommunityyouwillbeworkingalongside.Beforeyouknowit,thefirstgroupofstudentswillarriveandyournineweeksofmissiontripswillbegin!Eachgroupwillbringanywherefrom30-100energeticJr.HighandHighSchoolstudents.Thisisyouropportunitytoleadthesestudentsinworship,workprojects,andmakealastingimpactontheirlives.ThegroupswillarriveonSundayafternoonsandleaveonSaturdaymornings.Thetimebetweeneachnewgroupisspentwithyourteamresting,relaxing,andgettingreadytodoitalloveragain!Thereisnodoubtthisisanintensesummer.Thereisn’tmuchdowntimeortimeforbreaks;butifyouareseriousaboutmissionsanddevelopingyourselfintoaneffectiveleaderforChrist’sKingdom,thenaNextStepSummerStaffpositionisforyou.
