Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it to the full product

Cover Pages When constructing the cover pages a big difference before hand was research into existing products, when making the cover for my prelim I had only researched other existing magazines briefly while my other task included a lot of research into existing magazines. This is reflected by the amplified use of magazine conventions on my second cover compared to the first. 4. Cover Pages Another factor different on my covers was the research into audience. While both had an intended audience I only researched the musical audience of the second magazine and then, in depth. This has allowed me to appeal to that target audience even more and gives my magazine a clear style again tied to this target audience. My first cover only appeals to the target audience with the photograph which is representing that audience while the second cover not only caters to my target audience with its photo but also with its masthead style, font choices, colour scheme, price etc 5. Contents Pages 6. Contents Pages My contents pages differ greatly in their final result. The main reason for this is my knowledge of the software used to produce it, Quark. Since my preliminary task I have gone from never using Quark before to being able to do a wide variety of tasks within it. This is reflected through my 2 pages as the second is a lot more stylised and professional than the first. 7. Contents Pages My contents pages are also effected by my research into existing magazines. My first shares little of the existing codes and conventions of magazines nor challenges any as it is pretty basic with an extremely boring layout. My second contents page incorporates my magazines colour scheme, has a more interesting and logical layout dependant on the importance of articles and also includes conventions from existing magazines such as an Editors note.
