We hopped, skipped and jumped to a hopscotch world record with Tower Hamlets kids, for Bupa’s worldwide corporate volunteering day.

We worked with Bupa and NHS Tower Hamlets to launch Building Powerful Communities, a community wide approach to obesity in the borough.

Alongside Sinitta, we launched the second National Childhood Obesity Week and the Change4Life Really Big Summer Adventure.

We partnered with Rugby Premiership to get six of their clubs delivering MEND programmes locally, encouraging their communities to get active and healthy.

We teamed up with the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust to bring Former Olympian and Double Commonwealth Gold Medallist Adam Whitehead to mentor children and families in Tower Hamlets, helping to build the Olympic Legacy.

We established the MEND International Research Group (MIRG), an independent group of leading academics, to guide MEND’s research strategy.

Our experts got busy developing new programmes and services and tailoring them to meet local needs - Momenta for adults, under 5s service for NHS Ealing, MEND SEN and MEND Teens

We wrapped up the £8 million Big Lottery Fund Wellbeing portfolio, after hitting our targets and achieving a status of ‘outstanding’.

We were chosen to deliver large-scale contracts for child weight management services in The Wirral and Buckinghamshire.

Our research team continued to build our evidence base, the 29th MEND publication was published

We were awarded a major CDC funded child obesity prevention grant in the USA to evaluate MEND’s family programmes using an RCT.

We presented data on over 15,000 children at the Obesity Society Conference in Orlando and the World Diabetes Congress in Dubai.

We formed new corporate partnerships. We were chosen as one of three national partners for the Johnson & Johnson Corporate Citizenship Trust to support families in the most deprived areas of the UK, and are working with Kelloggs Swim Active to fund swimming facilities and train staff for local MEND programmes.

We showcased our fantastic partnerships and spread positive health messages at the Autumn party conferences.

We grew our international reach by setting up MEND Inc in the US which has partnered with AmeriGroup.

We adapted MEND 2-4 and MEND 7-13 in partnership with Alberta Health Services for families in Canada

The MEND Foundation, a US charity, secured partnerships with the Colorado Health Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Anthem Wellpoint amongst others.

And while we were doing all that... local teams delivered nearly 700 programmes, shared best practice and welcomed our 60,000th MEND participant, helping children and adults to live fitter, healthier and happier lives.
