Gang,
Well the summer is almost gone!! We have had a very busy season. Lots of shows were attended by myself and many others, from L.I.V. Some were great, with good weather and lots
of freinds.Others, unfortunately were not as well attended, mainly due to the threat of, and in some cases real, bad weather. Look for some of the pictures, from these events. They are
posted on the Website. "Long Island Vettes.Org" (in case you forgot)!
That all being said, we are still looking forward to more outings in the next few months. The all
car show for veterans at Northport V.A, Hospital, being run by LICOA is on Sep't. 26th. The "VANDERBILT SHOW" (LIV) which is Oct. 3rd., and the "WINE CRUISE" in conjunction with
"METRO- L.I. CHAPTER -NCRS" on Nov.7th.
Look for applications for these events in this newsletter, as well as on-line. Hope to see you at
all of these events!
Get out there and support your club, we will need lots of volunteers to help at the Vanderbilt.
L E T ’ S G O G R E E N GOOD NEWS - You will soon be able to elect to receive this newsletter
electronically. It's the green thing to do – in more ways than one!
In addition to being the earth friendly alternative, opting for the online version of the LIV Tymes will help reduce ongoing printing and postage costs. But more importantly, you will
receive important club information more quickly with electronic delivery.
By electing to receive this newsletter electronically, you will no longer receive a print edition
in the U.S. Mail. However, you will continue to have the ability to print newsletters from our Web site, longislandvettes.org.

Remember, we want stories, articles, tech. notes and/or pictures from our members for
publication. Send ‘em if you got ‘em!
Articles need to be submitted by the 20th of each month to ensure completion and mailing prior
to month-end. Due to time and/or space restrictions, not all articles submitted may make it in the current issue. Those articles will be held over for subsequent issues. The newsletter email
address is [email protected]. You can also submit a newsletter article from our new website www.LongIslandVettes.org.
If anyone wishes to have photos published on the website please email them to me. If
possible, create a zip file of the photos before emailing. This makes the email file smaller and
easier to send as well as allow me to easily download and post the images quicker and more efficiently.
The website has a new section named Personal Photo Galleries. If you would like to create
a personal photo gallery, please contact me and I will walk you through the set-up.
Thank you.

Corvettes at Carlisle 2010 has come and gone. The weather this year was probably the best I’ve
ever seen it for the 4 day event. As usual, Long Island Vettes Ltd. was in our great location in
spots ID74 through ID79. We shared the “big tent” with our friends TKO Performance and the Metro-LI chapter of the NCRS. Beverages and snacks were available for any member who
stopped by.
Corvettes at Carlisle is always a nice event. We all get to touch base with those “Corvette”
friends we may only see once a year. We also get the time to just sit and chat with other members that time just does not allow us to do at our LIV meetings. When you need to
purchase something for your ‘Vette; if you can’t find it at Carlisle, you probably can’t find it at all. There is plenty of Corvette – themed apparel for sale around the fairgrounds. Also,
‘installation alley’ is worth visiting if you’re interested in getting a new exhaust or perhaps a new cold air intake installed right then and there!
Our very own Mark Tulley had his car on display at the NCRS Gallery X building across the street. Many of us took the walk to go visit Mark and his awesome Callaway.
We hosted our annual dinner at the Rustic Tavern on Saturday night. We wound up with 17
people and they seated us outside on ‘the patio’. Our waitress should have won an award for
managing to put up with us unruly New Yorkers! (Just kidding) The drinks were flowing, the food was good, and I believe a good time was had by all.
Hopefully, many more LIV members and their spouses can make the trip down for Corvettes at
Carlisle 2011. We missed all those members that couldn’t make it down this time!
