Conservation and Maintenance: Why? – Preserving completely the historical and architectural
values of the bridge - Maintaining the residents’ daily routine - Helping maintain the perception of people, esp. tourists
about the ancient spirit of Hanoi How? – Fix of damaged parts and maintenance of the whole
bridge - Control the activities on the bridge: open market,
couples’ lock trend, etc. - A ban on motorbikes’ commuting
- A feasible plan on building another railway bridge for trains
- The existing railway: only for tourist trams
