Q : W h a t i s y o u r c o n c e p t o f s u c c e s s ? A : I do not work with the aim of achieving success. On the other hand, I just take a plunge into any work with full dedication. I have never selected a work on the premise of success or fail- ure. I believe that if you work with dedication, you are most likely to get success. Even if you fail, you can learn something from that failed opportuni- ty. Therefore, one must focus on work to achieve success in life. It is often painful. There is no proof. There is 'mob psychology' behind what is shared in the social media. Just as we can not recognise who shouted in the crowd, similarly we can not recognise who shared what in social media. This fact is increasingly becoming a cause for concern due to the expansion of social media plat- form. T u r n t o P a g e 2 What was going on in your mind during T-20 WC semifinals? I want to share certain things close to my heart on this occasion. I had been working in the fields of education, sports and social work for several years and had been closely moni- toring the developments in these fields. Hence wanted to share my experience. After working in the field of education, I realised that I was a ded- icated teacher and that I loved the field of teach- ing. Education is very close to my heart. Through the medium of Dhirubhai Ambani international school, I worked in the field of education. Students from various social backgrounds study in the school. Along with education, we also impart skills to the stu- dents. Now thousands of the students are step- ping out of the schools to take on the world. They are proving their mettle in the outer world. It was due to the dedication and love for education, that the school became the top- most school in the coun- try. Sports is one more field wherein I am active. I am active in the sports like cricket through the Mumbai Indians team which had added the feathers to the cap of Mumbai twice. We are also associated with the football and make sure that the sports are preserved and the youngsters are encouraged to develop interest in sports. She said she had learnt a lot from sports. Victory and defeat are two parts of the same game. When you are victorious you feel on the top of the world, but when you are defeated you feel humili- ated. These two things not only teach us a lot but mould our personal- ity, I think. We are active in the field of ‘India-Bharat Jodo’ initiative and thereby making our presence felt in the rural area too. We are working in the rural India with a view to develop the community and promote the devel- opment of the poor and deprived sections. This is an attempt to change the face of rural part of the country. I am active in the field of youth development. The coun- try has a large popula- tion of youngsters and I observe them from close quarters and I am work- ing for them. Youth is the future of the nation and therefore our effort is to empower them and help them realise their dreams. This work gives me great deal of satis- faction. I always remember the great thoughts of Dhirubhai about the youth. He said, “ Give best servic- es and facilities to the youth and create a favourable atmosphere around them. Give them encouragement and provide them all types of cooperation. The youth is the source of energy and they have the potential to realise their dreams." Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis gave away the ‘Youth Icon of the Year’ award to founder of Dhirubhai Ambani International School Nita Ambani, while (from L) president of Sakhi Manch Ashu Darda, singer Asha Bhosle, former Union min ister Praful Patel, editorinchief Rajendra Darda and managing director of Dhoot Transmission Pvt Ltd Rahul Dhoot look on. NITA AMBANI IS YOUTH ICON OF THE YEAR Renewed effort needed after failure Victory and defeat are two parts of the same game. When you are victorious you feel on the top of the world, but when you are defeated you feel humiliated. These two things not only teach us a lot but mould our personality, I think.
