Sir,Please refer to your appeal dated 22,09.10. I have examined the matter and myfindings are as under:

1. So far as your query at S.No. 11 is concerned, I am of the view that this issue is notcovered within the ambit of the RTI Act, as it seeks an opinion/view only.2. In so far as item No.13 and this Office is concerned, the ePlo had furnished therelevant information as per available records.(ji) Bungalow No.6, Krishna Menion Marg was allotted to Smt. Meira Kumar, daughterof Late 8abu Jagjivan Ram on 06,09.66 in her capacity as Member of Parliament.Consequent upon the dissolution of the 8tl1 Lok Sabha on 27.11.1989. the allotment wascancelled in her name w.e.f. 27.12.89.(iii) On account of non-vacation of the premises by Smt. Meira Kumar, evictionproceedings were initiated under the Public Premises (EViction of UnauthorisedOccupants) Act. 1971. The Estate Officer passed the eviction order on 22.1.90 directingher to vacate the premises within 15 days. Smt. Meira Kumar has, however, obtained astay against the eviction order. The Court dismissed her appeal and gave her time tovacate the bungalow by 31.3.90 purely on procedural and humanitarian grounds.(iv) Subsequently, the Cabinet Committee on Accommodation In its meeting held on24.10.91 approved allotment of bungalow no. 6, Krishna Menon Marg (Type VIII) in jt.le'name of Smt. Indrani Devi w.e.f. 25.3.90 for life on payment

Retention of bungalow no. 6, Krishna MenonMarg (Type VIII) was earlier allowed in thename of Smt. Indrani Devi, widow of Late Sh.Babu Jag Jivan Ram w.e.f 2.11.1991 onpayment of normal licence fee for life.Consequent upon her demise on 14.4.2002,the allotment of bungalow No.6, KrishnaMenon Marg was cancelled in her name w.e.f.14.5.2002 after allowing one month's retentionas permissible. The bungalow was inunauthorized occupation of the familymembers of late Smt. Indrani Devi thereafter.Subsequently, the competent authority haddecided to allot the bungalow to Smt. MeiraKumar in her capacity as Union Minister forSocia! Justice. Accordinqly the bungalow wasallotted tc her on 4.6.2004. However, she hadexpressed her inability to shift there andrequested for converting 6, Krishna MenonMarg into a Memorial of Babu Jag Jlvan Ramand to allot another house to her. However, nodecision had been taken by the competentauthority on these issues.

There is no such rules as to how longfurnish a copy of the rules government bungalows can be kept vacantpertaining to how long government without making any allotment. However, nobungalows can be kept vacant decision was taken on this issue.without making any allotmentsends this impacts revenues to theexchequer. "
