Date and Venue of the Events The 6 th Workshop on the Impact of Various Observing Systems will be held from 10-13 May, 2016. The workshop will be held at the Conference Hall on the 2 nd floor of the new building (No.3 Building) of SMS, 280 Caoxin Road (N). Wifi is available in the meeting room. 2. Entry Visa Requirements Visitors to China must have a passport valid for at least 6 months and confirmed round-trip tickets. Any participant from countries with no diplomatic relations or no special visa exemption arrangement with China should obtain an entry visa before entering the country. When uncertain as to entry visa requirements for China, please contact your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate as soon as possible. For more information, please visit the http://cs.mfa.gov.cn/wgrlh/ . If you are required to have an entry visa for China, you have to fill in the attached Form, and you are kindly advised to apply for the visa at the nearest Chinese Embassy/Consulate in your country. 3. Hotel Arrangement It is suggested that participants stay at the Jianguo Hotel Shanghai or Sports Hotel which are both just 5 minutes walking distance to/from SMS. Participants could either make their own booking through the hotel website or request the local secretariat to make the room reservation for them. Route: Maglev train to Long Yang Road---Take Line 2 to People Square Station (人民广场站), and transfer Line 1 to Xujiahui Station (徐家汇站)Jianguo Hotel Shanghai is beside Exit 2.
Sports Hotel Shanghai is 100 meters at the right side of Exit 1.
Taxi
If you have much luggage, you are kindly suggested taking a taxi since it will save you more time for a comfortable transfer. The taxi fare from Pudong Airport to Jianguo Hotel is around RMB 250.
Shanghai Taxi Rates
Comprehensive Price: price = base fare RMB 14 (first three kilometers) + RMB 2.4 for every succeeding km within 10 km and RMB 3.6 for every succeeding km after 10 km.
Night taxi service (from daily 23:00 to the next 05:00 ): price = base fare RMB 17 + RMB 3.1 for every succeeding km within 10 km and RMB 4.1 for every succeeding km after 10 km.

Chinese Currency is called the China Yuan (RMB). Chinese paper money usually comes in: 1 yuan, 5 yuan, 10 yuan, 20 yuan, 50 yuan and 100 yuan. Chinese currency can be exchanged at banks, hotels and Pudong Airport.
Exchange rates are subject to market fluctuations. As of 28 September 2015, One U.S. Dollar is approximately RMB 6.37.
Credit cards (Visa, American Express, Diner’s Club, MasterCard and JCB) are accepted at hotels, department stores, and most shops and restaurants. If your credit card does not have a photo please be sure to carry with you a photo ID.

The electric current in China is 220V, 50/Hz, and the below plugs are usually used. If your appliances plug has a different shape, you may need a plug adapter.
