Lockdown walks, either starting from North Newington or with a short drive to a start point. All walks are based on public footpaths with minimal road sections. They start and end at a village green or pub for ease of parking and refreshment at the end! All are loaded on the OS Maps app if you have it under the name shown here, or if you want I can send you a GPX file to load in mapping software or a sat nav’ device for walking. Have fun! based on public footpaths with minimal road sections. They start and end at a village green or pub for ease

of parking and refreshment at the end! All are loaded on the OS Maps app if you have it under the name

WALK 1 RATLEY ARLESCOTE WARMINGTON

2 HOUR WALK OVER 4.2 MILES WITH 500 FT

ASCENT ACROSS THE WALK.

Start at Ratley and park by pub / church,

and when Covid is all over go for a pint at

the Rose and Crown – good food too. The

walk picks up three long trails, Centenary

Way, Battlefields Trail and the Macmillan

Way, good views along the way.

Warmington has a nice green that you could

divert to for a break along the way, before

heading back to Ratley along the Macmillan

way.

WROXTON AND WROXTON ABBEY LAKES

Pleasant two hour walk across the fields

and back with circular route, 4.13 miles.

Take a stroll around the beautiful lakes in

the Abbey which is open in hours of

daylight.

Please note they do not allow bikes, or

dogs in the Abbey Grounds and picnics

are not permitted.

Check out the 3 follies belonging to the

WALK 3 SHENINGTON TO UPTON

HOUSE AND BACK

5.7 miles, 2.5 hours, 350 ft ascent

across walk.

Park on or near the green by The Bell

at Shenington (handy for a pint or

meal on your return) and follow trail

clockwise to Upton House and then

back to Shenington. There is a road

walk stretch (600 metre) from Upton

House car park to the turn off onto a

path but the verge is wide and safely

walkable despite it being a busy

road. Could make a shorter walk by

using the Macmillan Way path to cut

across the middle back to

Shenington.

WALK 4 EPWELL TO SHENINGTON

4.7 miles, 2 hours, 360 ft

height gain

Start at the green at

Shenington or at Epwell,

both have good pubs for a

refreshment afterwards and

food.

I would suggest starting at

Shenington and head

towards Epwell in an

anticlockwise direction as

the views are better
