History :

• Florence originated as a Roman city, but it was established as a city by Cornelius Sulla in the year 80 BC.

• Originally it was called Fluentia owing to the fact that it was built between 2 rivers.

• Later, Florence became one of the most powerful cities in Europe because of the developments in trade and banking techiniques.That´s why the Renaissance flourished in Florence.

• Nowadays, Florence is one of the most important cities

Florence and it is the most famous landmark.

• This massive Gothic cathedral has an eyecathing dome (built by Brunelleschi)

• The interesting thing about the dome is that it was built without scaffolding!

• The city is divided by this river. Tourist attractions exist on both the noth and the south sides of the river.

• Visitors can enjoy walks along the Arno.

• It is a wonderful place where you can relax and take photographs

• It is a fortified palace which includes a tall bell tower.

• A museum is now located in the palace.

It has the best collection of Italian paintings. The Renaissance flourished in Florence and that´s why Florence has some of the best masterpieces of art.
