The events took place on friday 3rd September 2010 at 14:55 on Taylor Road Kings Heath. The aged 19 victim from Bartley Green, saw the offender ride past her on a bike whilst she was standing at a bus stop. The victim thought nothing at all of this man, until he rode past her again stealing her bag fron her arm as he rode of heading towards Alcester Road. This small black handbag contained a purse and her fathers ashes. The ashes were in a clear tub. The offender would be unaware of the sentimental value of the ashes. The victim gave a clear discription of the offender be- ing aged between 18-20 around 5ft 7inch, he had short shaved hair and was of a very skinny build. The bike of the offender was small and purple. Anyone who has any information of this incident please contact 0345 113 5000, as the victim is very devestated about the loss of her fathers ashes. Anybody who may have seen this crime, it would be appreciated if you were to come forward as it may be you next. The victim was very devestated that something so terrible could happen in such a public place. I Interviewed the victim (Anna Westwood, aged 19) “I was very shocked that such a crime could take place whilst i was just waiting for a bus. I never thought that my fathers ashes would be treated with such disrespect, and why he would not return my bag after realis- ing what was inside, words cant describe how i feel” After speaking to Anna, Bir- mingham Extra also decided to join the appeal for the ashes. THREE CHARGED AFTER DEATH OF FOUR M O N T H OLD BABYThis morn-ing two men and one women was charged with the death of a four month old baby,A 24 Year old man from Birmingham has been charged with murder and is due to appear before magistrates court this afternoon, also a 20 year old woman and a 21 year old man were charged with

neglect and ill treatment of a child and are due to appear before birmingham magistrates courts next week. Aalihya Jordan-Fellows was born on 28 August 2008 and died on the 31st December 2008, She was taken from her home on Monday 29 De-cember from her home in West Heath, Birmingham. Three people were ar-rested immediatley and an investigation took place. A post mortem revealed that Aalihya died after a trauma to her head, she had a frac-tured skull and other inju-ries including fractures and bruising. After all this time they have all finally been charged. I got the chance to

get a few words from the 20 year old women as she was being taken into the police car she stated “none of this was ment to happen and I will plead not-guilty as I did not take part in any of these actions” evidence revelaled shown that these three offenders were one hundered percent guilty. After taking two years for the offenders to finally be prosecuted many parents can now be at rest for the safety of their children. This is one of the longest trials carried out this year. May i say rest in peace Aa-lihya Fellows. Hopefully no more shocking crimes like this will take place. Reporter - Anna Freeman

POLICE LAUNCH MURDER ENQUIRY FOLLOWING BODY F O U N D I N S M ET H W I C K

Detecticves have launched a murder enquiry af-ter the body of a 33 year old man was found.The body of Leon Robinson from Rubery was discovered Thursday 18th November at 11am as a member of the public was passing by. Post mortem revealed that he had died from a gunshot wound to the head. Cheif inspector Wayne Jones is asking for your help he stated that “Leon was well known in both Rubery and Sandwell, and someone

somewhere knows exactly what happened to him, we are particulary egar to speak to Leons friends as they may be holding back information that could help us with our investigation.”They are still waiting for people to come forward with information to help the detectives find out exactly who did this. The identity of whitnesses or anyone with any information will be protected. This kind of incident is extremely rare in such a quiet industrial area. officers have been construct-ing door to door inquiries and speaking to locals who may be able to help with the investigation. Leon is described as clean, shaven, white male, 5’8, with some distinctive scars on the back of his head, when last seen Leon was wearing black tracsuit with white stripes

and black nike trainers. A photo of Leon is to the left of the page.
