A VON L AKE PUBLIC LIBRARY DIRECTOR’S NOTE Pumpkin spice is in the air and leaves aren’t the only thing changing in Avon Lake. In June I was appointed your new Library director, succeeding the incomparable Mary P. Crehore. I look forward to discovering everything this community has to offer and continuing the tradition of providing exceptional service! Our program booklet is filled with something for everyone – kids, teens, and adults. Try a bike ride around town this fall. Don’t have a bike? Don’t worry, the Library is now loaning bikes, helmets, and everything you need to discover cycling! Something else new and exciting is our Adapted Story Time and Music Enrichment programs. These programs are designed for children with special needs and their families, as well as children who may struggle in a traditional story time setting. In October, get some goosebumps with Boo by the Woods. In partnership with Avon Lake Parks and Rec and the Lorain County Metro Parks, the Library will again host this “spooktacular” Halloween event. Also add to your list author visits, book discussions, crafts, family yoga, story times, and so much more. Are you a Friend? The Friends of Avon Lake Public Library financially support all the programs offered in this booklet. Renew your membership or join for the first time at their Fall Friendzy.
