Our Core Services
Process and Pressure Parts
We are proud of our more than 80 year history as an OEM of power industry boilers, with access to technical specialists, support and spare parts as part of the global Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems group.
We draw on our group’s strength and experience in
thermal power station asset maintenance, and
offer services for boilers and heat recovery steam
generators (HRSG).
We also have expertise in industrial and package boilers,
digestors and general process plants. We offer services
across the process and power industry sectors including:
• Maintenance and overhaul
• Retrofit/upgrade/replacement
• Refurbishments and modifications
• OEM technical support
• Access to non OEM support
Process Plant Valves
We understand that valves need to perform faultlessly every time they are needed. The price of a worn and leaking valve can be far more than its replacement.
With our years of experience we can repair or recondition
most industrial valve makes and sizes.
We offer on-site services for efficient, reliable plant
operations as well as mobile test and repair facilities for
on-site overhaul to improve equipment efficiencies and
reduce unplanned downtime.
Our workshop at Wacol, Brisbane, can manage valves of
any size for inspection, repair, testing and overhaul.
We can test and certify pressure safety valves insitu
and online as required. We can reverse-engineer and
manufacture valve components as required.
Our workshop also provides manufacturing support to
our on-site projects.
Process Electrical
Through Breaker Electrical (ACN 109 564 543), a fully owned subsidiary of MHPS Plant Services, we have a dedicated and highly skilled workforce, specialising in electrical maintenance, overhaul and electrical installation for industrial plants and power stations.
Our installation and project services cover:
• design, installation and commissioning of
standby and prime power generators
• cable, instrumentation, switchboard and
transformer installations
• installation of large motors to 6.6MVA
• installation and certification of hazardous
electrical equipment
We can perform retrofits and upgrades to existing
switchboards and control systems. We can provide
testing, maintenance and overhaul services for dry and
oil transformers, as well as Predictive Motor Analysis
(PdMA) to six motor fault zones covering air gap, power
quality, power circuit, rotor, stator and insulation.
We offer thermal imaging services for mechanical and
electrical equipment such as electrical switchboards,
cabling and motors.

Focused on the Future - Our OEM NetworkThe challenges facing the energy and power generation sector into the 21st century are immense.
In a greener, carbon managed world your energy
generating assets will need to respond differently and
do more than ever before to remain viable – from
greater emissions efficiencies to the ability to generate
intermittent energy at short notice to match both
peak and baseload demands.
Our global OEM network offers design and
manufacturing expertise unlike anything currently
available in the Australian market.
We provide access to global learning, technical
forums, the latest trends information, as well as
plant designers and technical experts.
MHPS Plant Services can work with you through
concept, design and implementation for energy
sector redesign, refurbishment, refitting, building
and installation projects.
Engineering
MHPS Plant Services has an experienced engineering design office, which when combined with specialised support from our OEM network partners provides clients with design, analysis and engineering skills that meet and exceed all relevant quality, health & safety, ASME and RPEQ requirements.
MHPS utilises a variety of specialist software in
support of its design activities including;
• Caesar II pipe stress analysis
• Space Gass structural analysis and design
• FE/Pipe finite element analysis
• Autodesk Plant Design Suite, Product Design
Suite including Inventor, Plant 3D and AutoCad
(latest versions with full Autodesk maintenance /
upgrade agreement)
• GateCycle plant performance and analysis
10
Plant and Equipment
MHPS Plant Services has over $30 million in tools and equipment that is managed centrally to ensure the assets are maintained and available for use accross the company.
As a result of the equipment having a longer lifespan and increased
utilisation, cheaper pricing is passed onto our clients.
Meeting the Renewable Future MHPS Plant Services is taking the cost out of renewable maintenance to help meet society’s energy needs while protecting the environment.
With the change-over from fossil fuel power to renewable energy
sources tightening the technology-cost gap, we can offer alternate
higher value maintenance solutions for:
• pumped-storage hydroelectricity plants
• gas turbine plants
