Commencement This Order comes into operation on 13 March 2009. 2. Scheduled species Schedule 1 to the Protection of Endangered Species of Animals and Plants Ordinance (Cap. 586) is amended— (a) in Part 1, by repealing section 7 and substituting— “7. When a species is included in one of the Appendices, all parts and derivatives of the species are also included in the same Appendix unless the species is annotated to indicate that only specific parts and derivatives are included. The symbol (#) followed by a number placed against the name of an Appendix II species or Appendix III species designates parts or derivatives that are specified in relation to that species for the purposes of this Ordinance as follows— #1 Designates all parts and derivatives, except— (a) seeds, spores and pollen (including pollinia); (b) seedling or tissue cultures obtained in vitro, in solid or liquid media, transported in sterile containers; (c) cut flowers of artificially propagated plants; and (d ) fruits, parts of fruits, and derivatives of fruits, of artificially propagated plants of the genus Vanilla. #2 Designates all parts and derivatives, except— (a) seeds and pollen; and (b) finished products packaged and ready for retail trade. #3 Designates whole and sliced roots and parts of roots. #4 Designates all parts and derivatives, except— (a) seeds, except those from Mexican cacti originating in Mexico, and pollen; L.N. 4 of 2009 L. (Made by the Secretary for the Environment under section 48 of the Protection of Endangered Species of Animals and
Plants Ordinance (Cap. 586))
1. Commencement
This Order comes into operation on 13 March 2009.
2. Scheduled species
Schedule 1 to the Protection of Endangered Species of Animals and PlantsOrdinance (Cap. 586) is amended—
(a) in Part 1, by repealing section 7 and substituting—“7. #5 Designates logs, sawn wood and veneer sheets.#6 Designates logs, sawn wood, veneer sheets and plywood.#7 Designates logs, wood-chips, powder and extracts.#8 Designates underground parts (i.e. roots, rhizomes): whole,parts and powdered.#9 Designates all parts and derivatives except those bearing alabel “Produced from Hoodia spp. material obtained throughcontrolled harvesting and production in collaboration with theCITES Management Authorities of Botswana/Namibia/SouthAfrica under agreement no. BW/NA/ZA xxxxxx”.#10 Designates logs, sawn wood and veneer sheets, includingunfinished wood articles used for the fabrication of bows forstringed musical instruments.#11 Designates logs, sawn wood, veneer sheets, plywood,powder and extracts.”;
(b) by repealing Part 2 and substituting—
