Nutrition, Opportunity and Success has been the calling card

for The AIM Companies™ for thirty years now, and we are so thrilled to have been able to take these three words and show others what the  AIM opportunity can provide to enrich their lives.

There are many opportunities that cross our path daily. Most we let slip away as the time to act on them never seems to come about.  By realizing a good opportunity and acting on it, many great things can and do happen.

Take for example our cover this month. Carolyn and Jim Kling are being honored for their seven million dollar earning achievement. Now if you ask Carolyn or Jim what has been the best part of being involved with AIM, Carolyn will tell you that being able to help so many people feel better  has been the best reward. And Jim will agree that it’s great to see others feel good, while adding that having some extra money to help his family feels good as well.

With this in mind, don’t think that all the good opportunities have slipped past you.

The AIM opportunity is right in your hand. Just take that first step to a better life.

Chairman’s Club Directors Carolyn and Jim Kling

have been with The AIM Companies™ since its beginning, starting as co-founders in 1982, and continuing as top earners through the AIM Compensation Plan. The past thirty years have been a remarkable ride for the Klings with their AIM business, and their success is evident as they are being inducted into the Seven Million Dollar Club, having earned seven million dollars in commissions from AIM.

Throughout their thirty years with AIM, the Klings have witnessed many thousands whose lives have been improved through better health with the AIM products. Their personal health and wealth story would not be complete without the testimonies of those they have reached with AIM’s living well message. here are two of Carolyn and Jim’s favorite AIM stories excerpted from Carolyn’s book Turning Green into Gold:

***years ago, we had a champion yodeler from

Idaho, Buzz Goertson, give a concert at our church. As he was singing, I could see he was struggling with his voice. he had a terrible cold and could not reach the high notes. After the concert, I remember going out in the freezing cold to his vehicle and talking to him about AIM’s barley juice. I gave him a jar and told him it would help him over his cold. Time passed, and I never followed up with him.

years later, imagine my surprise as Buzz was called up on stage at an AIM convention to be honored for his promotion to Star Sapphire Director.

I had to know the rest of his story, so after the program, I asked him to fill in the details.

After I had given him that first jar, he took the barley juice a few days and then stopped and put it in his cupboard. A short time later, on a trip to hawaii, someone else had given him another jar of AIM’s barley juice to try. he promptly took that one home and set it in the cupboard beside the first jar. One day while Buzz was out of town, his wife Wilma was really suffering with her health. A friend came over, noticed the barley juice in the cupboard, and convinced Wilma to try it.

Buzz came home from his trip, and right off, he could see that Wilma was different. Not only had her health improved, but she also seemed to have a happier state of mind. however, he was not about to try it himself. Wilma was not daunted, and when they needed more products, she challenged Buzz, “Why don’t we buy six jars? you take three, and I’ll take three. Then, if you don’t notice any difference, I’ll never bring it up again.”

Buzz thought, “here’s a great way to get rid of this,” and took up the challenge. Within

three weeks, Buzz knew this was something he would take for the rest of his life. After noticing benefits with his health, he saw a great opportunity to help others as he traveled. his sponsor actively worked with him, helping him reach out to the many lives he touched, not only with his beautiful music, but also with health.

Needless to say, I was devastated that I had let Buzz slip through my fingers. here was a man God had led to me, and I had not been diligent in my follow-up. Now, here he was an AIM Royal Emerald Director and an active business builder, and I had had the first chance with him. Each contact God sends our way is vitally important. Buzz is still an active Royal Emerald Director today.

***We had set up an ap-

pointment to meet with Dan and Louise Erceg after church one Saturday night. When we arrived, we found Dan in his bathrobe. he had been very ill, very depressed, and had not been dressed for days. In fact, he was the most depressed person I had ever seen, hardly look-ing up during our time together. When we pre-sented AIM’s barley juice to him, he immediately signed up and purchased a whole six pack. As Jim and I were driving off, I turned and said to Jim, “That was the biggest waste of time. That guy is so sick and depressed; he will never do anything with this. he won’t even take it!”

Jim had set a date for a little meeting the following week in Dan’s home. We drove back to his home, wondering why we had agreed to a meeting in the first place. What a waste of our time it was going to be when no one showed up.

however, when we turned down his street, what a shock! There were cars everywhere, down every side street! We couldn’t even find a parking place. Talk about an abrupt attitude change! We shifted into high gear.

When we walked into the house, it was packed full of people. We finished our presentation, and Dan signed up some people who went immediately to the top of the business. One man, who attended the meeting in a wheelchair, started taking AIM’s barley juice and exercising. Within a very short time, he was up walking. Another lady, a school teacher, sat swinging her legs during the meeting with a kind of disinterested attitude. After the meeting, she signed up and right away was a top producer.

And talk about a top producer! Dan really had a zeal for this product. It turned his own health around, and he was eager to share his discovery with others. he started putting on his own meetings with great success, and he even produced his own videos. Little did we know then that Dan would have one of the largest producing lines in AIM and be inducted into the Million Dollar Club.

Through a business con-nection, Jim had known Dan for

quite some time. After their first meeting, Dan took Jim aside and said, “I’m really upset with you. Why didn’t you share AIM’s barley juice with me when you first knew about this product?” Barley changed Dan’s life for the better.

***The Klings remain actively involved in their

AIM business and in their community. Carolyn and Jim sing in the Grace Notes choir. Jim is a senior elder of their church and Carolyn is head of the church hospitality committee.

Jim loves entertaining friends and guests with his guitar and mandolin. Their love of music ex-tends to their three children, Cathy McCrea (AIM Star Sapphire), Cheryl Towery (Director), and Jim Kling, III (Director), as well as 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

For many years, the Klings have sponsored sports teams from Northwest Nazarene University.

Teresa (left) and family.

Main Feature

It was World War II. When allied planes began dropping

bombs on her hometown of Naples, Italy, fourteen-

year-old Teresa grabbed the hand of one of her female colleagues and instinctively headed for the downstairs bath-room in the building

where they were both working. The girls hud-

dled together as the explo-sions continued all around

them. Everyone else in the building died during

the raid. Somehow Teresa and the girl survived. For three days they remained buried in rubble; their only nourishment was water from the toilet tank. Eventually, rescuers dug them out from what was left of the bombed-out structure.

Seventy-two years later, Teresa recalled their miraculous survival as though God had a special purpose for her. “I don’t know what made me take the hand of that girl,” she said with a characteristic modesty that is often a trait of those with a powerful desire to help others.

As an AIM Chairman’s Club Director, a nutritional consultant, and, perhaps most notably, as the formulator of AIM herbal Fiberblend®, Teresa Schumacher has succeeded in carving out a lifelong path that allows her to reach out and help people along the way.

The path took her from Italy to the United States after she married an American soldier. The year was 1945, and in the land of opportunity, Teresa embarked on a number of successful careers that included selling brushes, insurance, ladies’ undergarments, and health products. She and her husband started a family, and over the years they raised five children: Toni, Patricia, Joseph, Eugene, and Michael.

It was after Teresa had her first child that she began to have severe colon problems. “It was the change from a healthy Mediterranean diet to an American diet that caused it,” she explained. Even after a few corrective surgeries, Teresa still had severe constipation as her diet had not changed. her health continued to get worse. “There was a year when I could not even walk. It was so bad that I reached a point where I didn’t care whether I lived or died.”

Not knowing what else to do, her sister-in-law recommended that she go to see a French couple that provided therapeutic massage. “They were hippies, and we became friends,” said Teresa. “They recommended changing my diet to include fiber from cereal, which I did until I developed herbal Fiberblend.”

Teresa began studying herbs and proper nutrition. Using fiber and herb combinations, she started helping other people who had digestive problems—some of which were caused by parasites. Word of mouth

about her successes traveled around St. George, Utah, which had a population of about 10,000 at the time. She was soon selling thousands of

dollars’ worth of her natural remedies every month.

Around the same time, Teresa was introduced to barley grass powder from AIM. She began selling so much of AIM’s flagship product that it came to the attention of the owners of the company, Ron Wright and Dennis Itami. “Ron came to St. George, and we had lunch together,” explained Teresa. “After paying me, he left with six bags of my encapsulated herbs, which were part of my colon-cleanse program. That’s how it all began.”

After Teresa did test trials using AIM-packaged canisters of her formula and tracked successful results for nine months, The AIM Companies™ launched AIM herbal Fiberblend®, which continues to be a top-selling AIM product.

Seeing as how Teresa found help for her health problem by increasing her fiber intake, it seems fitting that she turned this experience into something that would reach out to a countless number of people all over the world.

“I feel that God has blessed me by letting me live through everything that I have experienced,” said Teresa, “you never really appreciate what other people go through until you have been through difficulties of your own.”

The financial success with AIM has created a legacy for her family. AIM Chairman’s Club Director Toni Lund, her eldest daughter, plays a major role in the family business, including the computer end of things. Teresa’s other children are all AIM Directors who regularly use the AIM products.

Teresa’s strong work ethic, which she got from her own mother, does not allow much time for her hobbies, such as playing the organ, or oil and water painting. On top of being active in the AIM family business, Teresa teaches nutritional courses at Dixie State College.

Even though she has been advised to slow down and not work so hard, Teresa offers her own advice: “Try to stay healthy so you can keep helping people.” And helping people is Teresa Schumacher’s business.

When it comes to cleansing and detoxifying the body, fiber is essential. you get it from foods such as grain, fruit, and vegetables, but most people do not get their recommended daily fiber intakes. When you are not getting enough fiber, or drinking enough water, you are actually making it hard for your body to keep your digestive system clean and eliminate toxins and waste. This can result in negative effects on your overall health—for example, constipation.

Supplementing with AIM herbal Fiberblend®, AIM fit ’n fiber™ (US), or AIM FibreBalance® (CAN) helps to put you on the road to regularity. Keeping your colon clean and functioning optimally means your immune system is kept strong as well.

Sometimes you need an extra herbal boost to relieve constipation or to support other body systems. That’s where AIM Cascara Sagrada™ or AIM herbal Release® can make a healthy difference.

AIM Herbal Release® contains a unique combination of cleansing herbs, including boldo leaf, buckthorn bark, burdock root, cascara sagrada bark, dandelion root, and echinacea. herbal Release helps maintain a healthy immune system by supporting the lymphatic system, which plays a central role in immune response. Each herb was carefully selected to help create a positive cell environment through the elimination of waste products from the body. herbal Release may be taken with herbal Fiberblend or FibreBalance (CAN) to achieve comprehensive detoxification.

In March and December of 2011, I had swollen lymph nodes. Both times, I treated the condition with herbal Release. Within two weeks, the lymph nodes noticeably decreased in size; within another week the swelling was completely gone. I continued the herbal Release another month, just to be safe. And I sometimes use herbal Fiberblend along with herbal Release.Mary Hughen, AIM Director Molino, Florida

Enhance the Benefits of Fiber with Cascara Sagrada

or Herbal Release

AIM Cascara Sagrada™ is one of Mother Nature’s finest laxatives.

Derived from the bark of the cascara sagrada tree, this effective yet gentle herb has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for constipation. Cascara Sagrada can be taken alone or the contents of one capsule may be added to one serving of one of our fiber products.

Please note that there is cascara sagrada in herbal Release and in the U.S. formula of herbal Fiberblend. It is wise to not exceed 1,000 mg of cascara sagrada a day, as an excess can cause an electrolyte and fluid imbalance. See product datasheets for more information.

I take herbal Fiber-blend, and in January 2012 I also started using  Cascara Sagrada. It  made a huge im-provement  for my digestive system. I had a big problem  with constipation, but not anymore. I most defin-itely recommend that people use this prod-uct for the same issue as I had.Leo Rybchinski, AIM Preferred Member Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

The gluten-free part of the pizza crust is likely its most attractive

feature. Gluten intolerance, also referred to as celiac disease, is a growing health problem. Researchers be-lieve that it is four times

more common today than it was in the 1950s, and certain

studies have found that an aver-age of one out of every 133 otherwise

healthy people suffers from the disorder.

The disease occurs in people whose bodies cannot digest gluten, a protein that appears in wheat, rye, and other grains. Symptoms include digestive distress as well as non-

gastrointestinal conditions like anemia, depression, and fatigue. Removing gluten from the diet helps alleviate symptoms and restore quality of life for those who suffer from gluten intolerance. Even those who don’t suffer from the disease can see an improvement in health and outlook by removing gluten from their diets.

AIM’s gluten-free products pro-vide alternatives to those looking for healthier options. And having a tasty pizza to choose from makes life a lit-

tle easier on those who have gone

gluten-free. Check out our AIM gluten- free pizza recipe.

With a bright AIM future ahead, Maria recognizes the importance of her past and the outstanding work her mother did to build and grow her AIM business.

“The story has always been my mother. She had a passion for helping people any way she could. She was always a giver. She was always, as long as I knew her, involved in nutrition in

some way.”

Maymie was introduced to the AIM products in 1987 and began using the products, sharing them with her family, and seeing immediate results. She was diagnosed with cancer in 1993 and chose AIM’s barley as part of her treatment and recovery regimen. She viewed her AIM business as a ministry and was devoted to helping others live well.

“When AIM was introduced to her and she started helping

others, she saw some miracles and major changes in

people’s lives, and I was able to watch those stories unfold,” Maria said. “People came to her with health issues of some kind, and their problems went away.”

her passion for helping others helped Maymie take

her business to the cusp of the Million Dollar Club.

“She never did it for the money,” Maria said. “She never did it for anything other than that she saw it working for people and she wanted more people to experience good health.”

Many AIM Members plan on leaving their businesses to children and family as

legacies that will continue the blessings of health and wealth for years to come. Such is the case for late Chairman’s Club Director Maymie White.

Maymie’s AIM organization is now handled by her daughter, Maria Gilvarry. And this year, the family business has reached AIM’s prestigious Million Dollar Club for achieving one million dollars in commission earnings.

“She’s the one who got it up to 999,000,” Maria said. “I just happened to be there when it went over. Without her, there is no story.”

Maymie passed away in June 2011, and Maria has been managing the AIM business ever since, with the help of her father. Maria, a resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico, has plans to expand the business in her area in addition to supporting the hundreds of downline Members in her inherited network.

“I’m working on a couple of ideas on how to introduce the products in this area,” Maria said. “From a business perspective, I saw huge potential in AIM—not only helping people healthwise but helping financially. I was willing to try and willing to learn and understand as much as I could.”

Every cell in your body requires

omega-3 and -6 essentials fatty acids (EFAs) … every day. Fatty acids are the primary building material of your cell membranes, which need to remain permeable for nutrients to enter and waste to exit.

Since your body cannot produce EFAs, it means your diet must include EFA-rich foods, such as salmon, kale, and flax seeds. AIMega®

provides a rich source of organic flax seed oil for a balanced 2:1 ratio of omega-3 and -6—a blend that also includes sesame seed, sunflower seed, and olive oils.

your body has a trigger mechanism that requires a balance of omega-3 and -6. An imbalance of too much omega-6 can create health problems. Supplementing with AIMega can ensure that you always have the proper amounts and balance of these healthy fats.

An omega-3 EFA-deficiency is associated with a long list of health problems, including conditions such as dry skin; brittle fingernails and toenails; dry eyes; and, even far more of a concern, diseases such as arthritis, cancer, and type 2 diabetes.

Essential fatty acids are vital for a long list of functions that include:• Maintaining cellular function … it all begins

with healthy cells• Growing and repairing your cells • Regulating blood pressure • Balancing hormones• Strengthening bones• Supporting a strong immune system

Since your body relies on EFAs for so many vital functions, they are essential for maintaining your health and preventing diseases.

Lifetime

By taking AIMega, your body benefits from the inside out. Just ask Christine Miller, AIM Preferred Member in Chapin, South Carolina.

“I took AIMega because essential  fatty acids help protect against high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, promote wound healing, and so much more.  I was after internal benefits and got external “beauty” benefits as well. In fact, I heard on a webinar that AIMega was the best internal cosmetic.

“My hair has grown thicker and stopped falling out. I  have been told my skin is ‘glowing,’ and  I am actually wearing much less makeup.  And my fingernails, which were ruined from years of applying artificial nails, are strong and healthy-looking. I never expected such great results with my hair, skin, and nails. I credit my ‘beauty benefits’ especially to AIMega. I am sure detoxifying with AIM herbal Fiberblend®, AIM BarleyLife®, and the other AIM supplements also helped, but I know the AIMega gave me a boost. By the way, I turn forty-eight in June.”

Weight Management

Being fit and slim not only gives you a healthy outlook, it also plays an important role for a healthier, hap-pier lifestyle. Being overweight or obese can put you at a higher risk of many chronic conditions, in-cluding type II diabetes, cancer, osteoarthritis, and heart disease. For a long-term, weight-loss so-lution, AIM provides a selection of whole-food concentrates and supple-ments plus a set of weight loss tools.

AIM GlucoChrom – for those who are over-weight or obese or have a chronic blood sugar imbalance, weight loss can be very difficult. GlucoChrom’s unique combination of chromium, vanadium, Gymnema sylvestre, and bitter melon can help in regulating insulin action and maintaining healthy blood sugar levels, both of which enable weight loss.

Starter Pack contains

the products and the

tools for losing weight

and feeling great!

Lose weight while “eating”The rule of thumb for healthy weight loss is to

reduce your calorie input by modifying your diet and to increase your calorie output by exercising (see the AIM Weight Loss Guide). Feeling hungry all day long and not getting enough nutrients are common issues with many dieters. The AIM Weight Loss Pack can ease your concerns.

AIM Weight Loss Pack – AIM ProPeas™ (2 bags US/canisters CAN), AIM fit ’n fiber® (US) or AIM FibreBalance® (CAN), AIM GlucoChrom™

AIM ProPeas – a vegetarian protein derived from allergen-free field peas. Compared to conventional protein supplements, such as whey and soy, pea protein takes a longer time to digest, so it leaves you feeling full for hours. As well as being healthier than animal protein, slowly digested pea protein also increases the body’s metabolism by expending more energy for digestion.

AIM fit ’n fiber (USA) or AIM FibreBalance® (CAN) – fiber gives you a feeling of fullness and promotes bowel movements. It helps to curb your appetite and effectively move toxins out of the body.

Sure, 100 calories is 100 calories, but the make-up of those calories can vary. Fats, carbohydrates, and proteins determine the calorie count of every food. These are known as macronutrients.

In addition to macronutrients, there are also micronutrients like vitamins, minerals, phyto nutrients, and antioxidants. These micro-nutrients provide improved health but don’t contribute to the calorie count. Many of today’s highly processed foods are not only absent of valuable micronutrients but are also high in empty calories from solid fats and/or added sugars. Let’s first look at a common snack:

The empty calories in this snack are not only lacking micronutrients, but 43 percent of those calories come from fat and only 6 percent come from protein.

Now let’s turn this nutrient loser into a winner:

This snack has reduced calories and increased micronutrients (like vitamin C, potassium, folate,

and fiber). For extra nutrition, add some healthy essential fatty acids from AIMega.

Now we’re left with the choice of eating more jicama or sticking with a comparable serving and losing a few pounds from the calorie reduction. To eliminate fats from our diet would be a mistake, so instead we need to eliminate unhealthy saturated fats from the tortilla chips and replace them with healthy unsaturated fats like those found in AIMega.

More examples of empty-calorie foods include soft drinks, cake, cookies, sport drinks, ice cream, processed cheese, fries, burgers, and hot dogs.

you can create a nutritious dessert with AIM BarleyLife®. Mix 1⁄2 frozen banana, 1 tablespoon of Dutch cocoa, 1 rounded teaspoon of Barley-Life, and 6 ounces of cold water in a blender. Since this recipe only comprises 3 percent of the protein we need, let’s add one tablespoon of AIM ProPeas™. This will crank up the protein by 3.5 grams. you’ve now created a dessert that will satisfy your crav-ings and load you up on macronutrients and micronutrients.

In 2008, Carolyn purchased a house in the historic district of downtown Nampa, where she and her daughter Cathy continue to serve her customers and Members through her Green Barley Nutrition Center. They regu-larly hold leadership meetings. They often make presentations at the Nampa Chamber of Commerce, where they have been mem-bers for over thirteen years.

In September of 2000, Carolyn was named as one of four “Every Women” entrepreneurs for the state of Idaho, sponsored by the State Treasurer.

Building an AIM business remains a clear focus for Carolyn and Jim. “Our philosophy is to work like the dickens,” Jim said. “We really aren’t just sit-ting around in our old age,” Carolyn added. “We’re still extremely busy and still making a difference in

a lot of people’s lives. We are still attracting new Members who use the AIM products and share them with their friends and family.

“Even in the initial stages of our AIM business,” Carolyn said, “we had a special excitement, and that excitement grew even more when we felt God was witness-ing to us. We knew we had a hold of something bigger than us. We felt it and this gave us the passion to jump in with both feet. It was sink or swim, and swim we did. We still have the same passion today, burning within our hearts, as we did all those many years ago.

“With the amazing number of people who have been touched by us through our AIM busi-ness, it has been incredible to look back and see what has happened to us. We never in our wild-est dreams could have envisioned the success we are having.”
