Welcome to Welcome to UCSD!UCSD!

On behalf of Housing, Dining, and Hospitality at UC San Diego, I would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to the university! You are about to embark on an incredible journey, and the next four years of your academic career will be transformative.

As a first-generation student, I truly understand the support needed for students who are transitioning from high school to college. That’s why we’re here for you. Your focus should be on the main reason you’re at UC San Diego: to have a world-class academic experience. Our housing program includes well-designed living spaces with vibrant programming as well as quiet study areas where you can concentrate on learning. Our unique dining program has something for everyone, including the largest halal-certified residential dining facility in the nation. We also offer certified kosher menus, a vegan restaurant, table-service options — and of course, we have pizza and burgers too!

I invite you to explore all of the amenities your housing and dining package includes and see how living on campus will enhance your overall UC San Diego experience. You can also learn more by visiting our website at hdh.ucsd.edu.

With Triton pride,

Next Steps...

Apply for housing by the deadlines.Freshmen: May 8 / Transfers: June 8

Housing contract information will be available at tritonchecklist.ucsd.edu after June 11.

Your signed contract and $450 housing prepayment is due June 30.

Housing Contract and Guarantee Housing applicants will find their housing contract information at tritonchecklist.ucsd.edu after June 11. Contract information will also be emailed to your UC San Diego email address.

Signed contracts and $450 prepayments are due June 30 for both incoming freshmen and transfers.

Students who meet the admissions and housing application deadlines will receive a housing contract offer. Students who

complete their contracts, including prepayment, by the deadlines

stated above will secure a 2-year housing guarantee (six consecutive

academic quarters beginning with fall 2020, excluding summer).

To maintain your housing guarantee, you must continuously reside on campus for six consecutive academic year quarters and meet annual contract deadlines. Moving off campus for any length of time other than quarter breaks, summer, or a UC San Diego-sponsored exchange program voids your housing guarantee. Any opportunities for housing beyond the 2 year guarantee will be communicated to residents. We want you to stay on-campus!
