Technology

We live (and work) in a multi-screen world - in a B2B environment, we all have laptops, smartphones and, increasingly, we are using tablets as well. Giving attendees the opportunity to live and work in a multi-screen world is a recipe for satisfied and engaged users – and gives event organizers a complete profile of attendees!

Accommodating Different Use Cases for Event Attendee Activity

Living in a Multi-Screen World

What do we have?

Everyone

Half of everyone (and rising fast)

Almost everyone

We live (and work) in a multi-screen world

In a B2B environment, we all have laptops, smartphones and, increasingly, we are using tablets as well

BUT – not in the same way

How do we use…email

We would write and review long emails and inspect attachments on a laptop…But would hesitate to do so on a tablet. And would use a smartphone to only check email and respond to the most urgent of them.

How do we use…Travel Websites

We would use a PC to research, book, check the fine print and pay for a holiday

A smartphone would only be used to store a boarding pass or details on local facilities

Very different use cases!

The Attendee Use Case

• Attendees typically want to use different devices at different phases in their participation in the event

• Not providing them with a joined-up way of doing so is a recipe for frustration – and poor app uptake!

Implementing a portal approach allows attendees to: • Research on their laptop• Transfer all data to an app

on a smartphone/tablet• Upload all collateral/notes/

contacts back to the desktop after the event
