- The BWSW is the governing body of our sport in the UK- The wake park will be accredited with BWSW- We will run the BWSW Cutting Edge program, which gives wakeboarders between 14 and 25, bronze, silver and gold awards as they develop their skills- Liverpool Wake Park will host grass roots competitions designed to help grow a local community of wakeboarders. These are designed for people who have just learnt to wakeboard and the day events include pro coaching and a small competition with lots of prizes- Liverpool Wake Park will work with the BWSW to host events with international ranking points that will see the top riders from the UK and overseas travel to Liverpool to compete- The site will also be a training centre for all the System 2.0 Wake Parks in the UK. Trainees can come to Liverpool Wake Park to gain logged hours and be given a BWSW System 2.0 Operators License

- Sport England and BWSW work very closely - We will have Level 2 Wakeboard Coaches working at the wake park- Sport England help to fund a sporting program called Sportivate. We will use this program to offer special discounted taster sessions for kids aged between 8 and 18 years old. We can offer learn to wakeboard sessions from as little as £5 using Sportivate. This is how we aim to take the sport to the youth of Liverpool- The Sportivate program opens up wakeboarding to a much wider demographic of people- Sport England and the BWSW have identified Liverpool as a key region to help develop the sport of wakeboarding and have made some capital funding available to aid the opening of Liverpool Wake Park

- The aim will be to train local people to work at the wake park- This year at Foxlake Adventures in Scotland we trained 6 local people who had never ridden a wakeboard before, to be fully qualified System 2.0 instructors in a 5-week period. We would like to run a similar program in Liverpool- There will be full time and part jobs available at the wake park

- The wake park will use two Sesitec System 2.0 cable systems to tow the wakeboarders up and down the dock- These are environmentally friendly and very quiet- The park will feature up to 10 floating obstacles, which the riders use to perform tricks. There will be obstacles for all standards of wakeboarders and a progression ladder from beginner to pro- Capacity of 8 people per hour in normal sessions. Can go up to 20 per hour in taster sessions - Open 8am till 9pm when possible- Full capacity day of 12 hours = 96 people in normal sessions

There are a host of different people we can attract to Liverpool Wake Park:- Beginners – tourists and locals- Existing wakeboarders from all over the UK will travel to the site- Kids programs in holiday periods- Ladies coaching evenings- Pro coaching clinics for intermediate to advanced riders- Stag and Hen parties- Kids parties- Corporate groups and events

The ultimate plan is to attract beginners to the wake park and give them an incredible experience and turn them into regular wakeboarders.

- Having researched each dock space in Liverpool South Docks, we feel that the best dock to use is Queens Branch Dock. - We would like to build a working relationship with Liverpool Watersports Centre & operate from there. - Below is a first draft idea of how two System 2.0’s would fit into Queens Branch Dock.

*Please note this is a first draft idea, it needs to be discussed in detail with Canal & River Trust and Liverpool Watersports Centre.
