Relic Pilgrimage of St. Jean Vianney’s Incorrupt Heart at the Cathedral The incorrupt heart of St. Jean Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests, will be at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thurs, May 23 from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. Bishop Stika will celebrate Mass at 12 noon with the priests of the diocese and all are encouraged to make a pilgrimage visit that day. Parents and families are invited to attend the Closing Mass on Sunday at 3 PM. During the month of May we will have an in house drawing for a picture of our Lady and Child. The Image is on display in the nartrax. The drawing will happening after the First Communion Mass. Anyone may place a ticket in the bowl, but we would appreciate a 1.00 dollar donation towards our building fund. At this time, the building fund serves two purposes: future projects and paying down the debt. Spanish Children Choir The Spanish Children Choir will be singing on May 26th. If your child wishes to participate call Blanca Mares @ 865-297-7811 BACKPACKS SCHOOL YEAR 2019-2020 We are gearing up for our Back to School Program for this year. Father Steve has asked that you check your child’s/children’s information on the clipboard in the back by the end of May. This year, if you don’t leave us your information, we will not provide backpacks for your family. 1. Look at the list and make sure your children are listed with names spelled correctly. Make corrections if necessary. 2. Add your child/children if they are missing. Please print clearly. 3. Do we have the correct grade your child will be entering in the fall? Make corrections if necessary. 4. Do you want us to have a backpack for your child or not? Please put YES or NO. BACKPACKS WILL BE READY FOR YOU TO PICK UP AFTER MASS ON SUNDAY, JULY 21, 2019 BEFORE THE TAX FREE WEEKEND.

ST. MARY’S LEGACY CLINIC is a mobile clinic based in Knoxville that provides free primary medical care to patients without insurance at 6 locations throughout the diocese. The clinic is in need of the following volunteers:

Drivers with at least a Class B CDL.

Nurses willing to travel once a month, especially to Gatlinburg or Decatur.

General volunteers who can help with patient registration in Gatlinburg.

Clerical assistance at our administrative office in Knoxville.

Primary care physicians or nurse practitioners willing to commit to at least 1 day per month.

We are having a volunteer orientation on May 30, 2019 at our office at 10919 Carmichael Road in Knoxville. If you are interested, please consult our website www.stmaryclinic.org for more details and to download a volunteer application.
