114. However, out of this total of 2000 acres, the Environmental Clearance has been accorded by

MoEF, GoI vide Letter No. 21-171/2007-IA.III dated 18th June, 2008 for developing 888.50 acres

(or 359.56 hectares) of area. Copy of earlier EC is enclosed as Annexure 1(a). Subsequently during

the sector demarcation procedure, project area initially envisioned to be Sector-98, 105, 108 & 109

covering 888.50 acres (or 359.56 hectares) of area for which EC has been obtained, has instead been

marked in Sector-98, 99, 104, 105, 106, 108, 109 & 110. It is clarified by Northern Regional Office,

MoEF Chandigarh vide Letter No. 5-131/2008-RO (NZ) dated 08.02.2012 that the geographical

features of these are identical, as only the nomenclature of sectors have changed. Copy of MoEF

letter is enclosed as Annexure 1(b). Out of this total 888.50 acres (or 359.56 hectares) of area,

initially development was planned for 601.50 acres as mentioned in MoEF letter. Accordingly,

development work was started on site but due to recession in market and financial crisis, project

could not be completed and construction work was stopped at site. Now, planning has been finalized

for 625.35 acres (or 253.07 hectares) for which layout has been approved by Chief Town Planner,

Chandigarh. Approved Layout Plan is enclosed as Annexure 9. Also, validity of Environmental

Clearance has been expired; thus, fresh application has been filed for Environmental Clearance for

625.35 acres (or 253.07 hectares) of land.

Comparison of the details between EC Accorded and Fresh Application is mentioned below in

WATER REQUIREMENT & WASTEWATER GENERATION

During operation phase, water supply will be provided from borewells (13 Nos.); out of which

3 are operational. The total water requirement will be 13,744 KLD out of which fresh water

demand will be 10,584 KLD after full occupancy. 11,374 KLD of sewage will be generated

from the project after full occupancy which will be treated in existing 3 STPs of 100, 100 &

10 KLD capacity and proposed 3.7 & 7.5 MLD capacity. Existing STPs are based on MBBR

Technology.

Sectors-98, 99, 104, 105 & 106 has combined waterworks and plumbing lines i.e. fresh, sewer

& treated water lines. Thus, common STP is being provided for the treatment of wastewater

generated from these sectors. 100 KLD STP already exists at site.

While, for Sector 108, 109 & 110, combined water works and common STP is proposed. 100

& 10 KLD STP already exists at site.

The detail breakup of water requirement and wastewater generated for all the sectors are

given below in Table 4(a). While, detailed water demand calculations are given below in

Table 4(b) & 4(c).

Water Balance diagrams for Sectors 98, 99, 104, 105 & 106 and Sectors 108, 109 & 110 for

RAIN WATER RECHARGING For Residential Plots having plot area of 400 sq.m or above; shall have roof top rain water

harvesting system to recharge ground water as per the specific design. Individual plot owners

will be responsible for provision of rain water recharging within their plot itself.

While, for other areas rain water recharging will be done by the proponent. Calculations are as

follows:
