Dear Fellow
Lions of District
4-C4!
Dear Fellow
Lions of District
4-C4! We just
concluded our
District and the
Multiple District
Conventions; virtually and in Reno,
respectively. Congratulations to all
newly elected leaders and officers in
their clubs and districts. I am highly
optimistic and enthusiastic about the
future of our organization. The spirit
of collaboration and the focus of
achieving common goals are
unprecedented.
I am happy to see so many clubs thrive
during this Pandemic. Finding ways to
serve and make a difference in their
communities. They rose to the
occasion when a need was posted. For
example, Erik’s Big Fight for Cancer
fundraiser by the Foster City Bair
Island Lions Club was a success. Over
$10K was raised for LCIF to provide
relieve for India’s COVID 19 by the
Foster City Lions Club. The San
Carlos Lions had a drive through
Carne Asada drive through fundraiser
for Arbor Bay School (special needs
audience.) There are numerous other
Clubs that never stopped to make a
difference.
This year, we implemented Wufoo, an
online event management system to
help clubs manage their registration
for an event. It takes orders and
payment online, fills a form for
compliancy and provides reports for
transparency. It receives payment and
directly deposits the funds into your
club’s bank account. This is available
to all clubs free of charge! If you are
interested, please contact Lion August
Valera Jr. or myself to get your club
started.
Please pay attention to the District
Thread emails to get up-to-date
information on projects and events
around you. As the chairperson, I
would like to invite you to the District
4-C4 Bowling tournament benefiting
the Student Speaker Contest
Foundation on July 3rd at Bel Mateo
Bowl in San Mateo. It will be a
morning event. I promised it will be
fun! So sign up today!
I want to congratulate District
Governor Fanny for a fantastic year
and for her theme “Be Seen, Be
Heard, and Be Known!” Our digital
library and online presence from
YouTube and FaceBook recorded and
archived this year, forever. You will
always be known as the Pandemic
District Governor in the history of
Lions. This will be your legacy.
Yours in Lionism,
Lion John Hui
