If your child was absent on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 due to the weather, please either send an email to [email protected], a note to school with your child, or phone our
office with that information. We need to code the absence appropriately. If we do not receive this information, the absence will remain unverified and turn to an unlawful absence after 5
days. Thank you.
LSE READS
Our LSE Reads Program is starting soon. Your student will receive a packet and a paper back copy of Frindle. The packet contains a reading calendar, discussion questions and vocabulary
words to discuss while reading. The calendar designates which chapter should be read each
night. Students are encouraged to read one chapter every two days with their family members
and review the discussion questions for that chapter as a family. The list of discussion questions
is given to help spark conversation between you and your child. Our hope is that this event will
be a very powerful experience for all LSE families. Be on the lookout for the book and packet to
be coming home on the 27th of January.

KUDOS
Congratulations to our 2 First Lego League Teams that scored within the top 10 for the mission completion portion in their first competition. Great job, Lucky LEGO Stars and Robo-Panthers!
Many thanks to the First Lego League coaches, Brandon Koontz and Maria Shanabarger. You have accomplished so much with the students in such a short time!
Many thanks to all who supported the Scholastic Book Fair. LSE earned $4208.56 in profit. These monies will be spent in improving our library materials and programs.
Kudos to Tally Myers, Renee Cross, Kathy Gounaris and a myriad of volunteers who helped to
make the book fair a successful and enjoyable event.
Congratulations to the following fifth grade students who will be representing Linton Springs at the annual Eisteddfod Concert in March 2020: Jaden Fullen, Abigail Gaieski, Kayla Roland,
