LINOCUT Linocut is a form of print and it is created by a lengthy process of cutting into a sheet of linoleum with an almost chisel like knife, it is V-shaped so that the artist/participant can get a large amount of detail. After the linoleum has been finished with a layer of ink is applied and soon after that a piece of paper is applied to a press and is slowly pushed down on the now wet linoleum after this the pressure is lifted the paper is slowly peeled off the linoleum, to leave a very original looking piece of work. linoleum is now mainly used by artist because of the original and quiet beautiful looking art it can produce.

LINOCUTLinocut is a form of print and it is created by a lengthy process

of cutting into a sheet of linoleum with an almost chisel like knife, it is V-shaped so that the artist/participant can get a large

amount of detail.

After the linoleum has been finished with a layer of ink is applied and soon after that a piece of paper is applied to a

press and is slowly pushed down on the now wet linoleum after this the pressure is lifted the paper is slowly peeled off the

linoleum, to leave a very original looking piece of work.

linoleum is now mainly used by artist because of the original and quiet beautiful looking art it can produce.

SCREEN PRINTScreen printing is a technique where ink is applied to a woven mesh which has a ink-blocking stencil attached so that the desired image can be reached.

Ink is pushed evenly across the mesh using a squeegee and depending on what type of ink your using and the stencil attached, that all decides how the picture will come out.

Screen print can be used on multiple different items ranging from T-shirts to the bog standard art we’ve all come to expect.

GRAVUREGravure the short way of

saying Rotogravure, which is one of the most commonly used forms of print there is, it’s now used purely for things

like magazines and postcards but at one

point it was in staple use with in the newspapers.

Gravure is a type of intaglio printing process, which includes engraving the image onto an image carrier. In gravure printing, the image is engraved onto a cylinder printing press.

LITHOGRAPHY

In modern lithography the image is made the image is made of polymer coating added to a flexible aluminum plate, the image can be printed straight from the aluminum plate or it can be

offset by transferring the image onto a flexible sheet, predominantly rubber for printing and publication

LASER PRINTING

Laser printing is a very quick form of digital printing that has high quality results.

It is used for both quality text as well as pictures it does all this by passing a laser beam over a charged drum to define a differentially charged image, the drum selectively picks up charged toner and transfers the image to paper.

PHOTO COPYING

Photocopiers are a machine that makes paper copies of documents and visual pictures quickly and for a low cost.

A majority of photocopiers run on a technology called xerography, a non wet process that uses electrostatic charges on a light sensitive photoreceptor to create a transfer of toner particles onto paper in the form of an image.
