Lessons Learned (1)1. Right information, right time, right people.

Don’t overwhelm with content.2. High touch in highly virtual

times: Provide active, individualized facilitation & communication. Makedirect requests to connect & contribute.

3. Attend to technical AND social components of identifying, screening, understanding, interpreting & disseminating knowledge.• Technology, processes and people.



Lessons Learned (2)4. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Adapt resources to

various formats and audiences.5. Ensure resources are “reality-based”. Focus

on doable strategies & specific next steps.6. Develop targeted resources that “cover key

concepts in a thorough and concise manner,” are “clear and easy to understand,” and connect to “a larger community of professionals.”



Lessons Learned (3)7. Model for participants the value and behaviors

of a learning organization: Use/share knowledge, and explicitly use evidence/evaluation for improvement.

8. Focus participant attention on salient, immediate work tasks. Don’t bring folks together unless you are clear about purpose/goals/relevance/outcomes.

9. Be nimble. Allow for the goals/purpose to shift or evolve over time.

10.Don’t duplicate – collaborate & integrate.
