Grip-All Clamp Sticks (Shotguns)The most versatile tool in a lineworker’s hands, the Grip-All stick puts an easy-to-control “finger” on an insulatedpole Although primarily designed for installing hot lineand grounding clamps, it serves both overhead andunderground circuits with various end fittings.
Commonly called a “shotgun”, the operating mechanismincorporates a sliding hand grip that opens the hook tograsp a clamp eyescrew and retract it into the tool head.A thumb latch then must be depressed to release thelocked hand grip so it can open the hook.
While the tool head is of Lexan for close-quarter opera-tions, the worker must maintain recommended workingdistance soley on the Epoxiglas pole section of the handleas the hook and its actuator are metal parts.
Easy to care for, Grip-All sticks do not require fieldstripping to clean. All insulated parts including theoperating rod are outside the main pole, readilyaccessible to wipe dry. CAUTION DO NOTCLEAN THE PLASTIC HEAD WITH SOLVENT

Heat-treated aluminum castings, durable Epoxiglas poles, and steel hardware combine to make the cradle a strongand dependable piece of equipment. The aluminumcastings are a weight-saving feature providing ease inhandling.
The insulator-laden cradle can be raised or lowered foreasier insulator changes using a bail attached to a linkstick. Hooks are furnished for installing and removingthe dead end tool from insulator yokes.
Insulator Cradle CarrierH1950-90
The Insulator Cradle Carrier utilizes a spiral link stick asa support member for the three hook and clamp assem-blies and has a 21/2” Epoxiglas insulated ridgepole. Themaximum load is 500 pounds.
Designed specifically for selective removal of any onestring in dead end bundles, double, triple, or quad, theSide-Open Cradle eliminates the need of removing topstrings in the bundle to get at the lower string.
Available in 9’, 13’, and 16’ lengths, cradles are shippedcomplete with bridle for attaching to Swivel Boom, anInsulator Retaining Plate and either 15-31-inch HookAssemblies. The 15-inch assembly is used for single ordouble dead ends while the 31-inch Assembly is forremoval of the bottom strings in 4-bundle dead ends, andfor double “V”-string assemblies.
The 9-foot Cradle is rated 500 pounds maximum load, and the 13 and 16-foot Cradles are rated at 1000 poundsmaximum load.
C402-0790The J-Hook unit can also be used for removal of dead endinsulator strings. The plastisol covered steel hook swivelson the end of a 2”x36” Epoxiglas pole and has a 2.5”diameter pole clamp at the top end, allowing horizontaladjustment on an Epoxiglas ridgepole to varying lengthsof insulator strings. This hook assembly is particularlyuseful in removing the bottom string in a 3-bundleinsulator string.

Steel Arm Yoke -C400-0445Designed for use on thearm of a steel pole, theSteel Arm Yoke mounts over a .75” - thick end plate.Swivel castings in the end of the yoke assure properalignment of the Chance Strain Poles to the conductor-end yoke. The load rating is dependent upon the angle ofthe end plate on the arm; 45 degrees is maximum angleallowed with a rating of 9,000 pounds. In-line loading ofthe yoke permits a rating of 15,000 pounds. Bronze pinsplace the strain poles 21 inches apart, center-to-center. Alifting eye is cast into the top of the yoke for the purposeof landing the yoke upon the end plate of the pole armCapacity 15,000 lb. Weight 14 3/4 lb./6.6 kg.
Steel Arm Bracket -T400-0838The steel arm bracket is used with the C400-0445 (steelarm yoke) where the steel arm is not equipped with an
end plate. The bracket ismade of heat treated alumi-num and is complete with awheel binder. The steel armbracket serves the samepurpose as an end plate tosupport the yoke assembly.Capacity 15,000 lb.

Swivel Hook LaddersHook Ladders have many applications inhigh voltage maintenance, making linerepairs possible at otherwise almostunaccessible places. Two basic styles areavailable. The Regular Duty Ladderswith 2”siderails, for vertical suspensionapplications. The Heavy Duty Ladders, with 2.5” siderails are recommendedwhere men are required to work from theladder in a tagged out position.
All hooks are formed from 1” diametertempered steel and can be swiveled to bestfit various angles on the structure.Ladders are normally furnished with 8”diameter hooks but 14” or 18” diametersare available for other structure applica-tions. Safety chains clip to the looks tosecure the ladder. Rung material for bothrated ladders is 1.25”, Epoxiglas, sandcoated.

Chain Binder Type Transformer Gins
C400-00315 5” Base & C400-0090 StandardA versatile tool for hoisting distribution transformers andapparatus up the structure. The standard base unit is formounting on clear pole sections and the 5” extended basemodel allows mounting to bridge up to 4”x5” crossarms.A wheel tightener and 36” chain is a part of each unit. Both models have 2000 pound maximum ratings, includ-ing hand pull force. With a single hoist line through apulley on the gin and a sheave near the base of thestructure, the lift load is 900 pounds (lift load plus thepull load equals the capacity). Using 4-4 blocks, the liftload can be 1,400 pounds. A swivel-hook block shouldalways be used in the eye of the gin, and a sheave or acapstan near the bottom of the structure should be used tothread the handline through. Gins are not intended forapplications involving side pull on the hoist line, or withthe lift load in a tagged out position. Pole length: 26”.
