November Preaching Series: For the next four weeks we will be studying Isaiah as we

look at “Tenderly Trusting in Tense Times.” The preaching schedule is as follows:

November 3—Isaiah 6:1-13, Pastor Owen

November 10—Isaiah 40:1-11, 28-31, Pastor Owen

November 17—Isaiah 55:1-13, Youth Sunday

November 24—Isaiah 61:1-6; 10-11, Pastor Deb

Wednesday Evening at Lindale: This Wednesday is the 5th Wednesday evening at

Lindale. The meal will be Mexican chicken tortilla soup and will be served at 6 p.m.

Lana Kauffman & Teresa Boshart Yoder will look at the Macedonian model of sacrificial

giving (2 Corinthians 8-9) and explore God’s invitation to generous living. Then we will

engage in a discussion about charitable giving options that make long term impact.

Share the Light: Supporting Families: Maybe your family would welcome some

‘empty nest’ couple, a family with high school children, a single person, or maybe

grandparents to ‘adopt’ your family for the months of November and December.

* If you are interested in being ‘adopted’ or 'adopting' a family, please email / text

Amanda, Alicia or Diane or signup in the Lower Level.

Search Committee Update: Thank you to all who submitted names as Elders worked to

form the new Search Committee. The members of the Search Committee are Dana

Sommers (Chair), Abe Rittenhouse, Abe Hartzler, Alexis Rutt, Evie McPhee, Julette

Rush, Julie Weaver, Mark Horst, and Theresa Horst.

You are invited to an Ethiopian meal on Friday, Nov. 8, 6:30 p.m. at Harrisonburg

Thanks so very much for the surprise party after church last Sunday. I've been basking

all week in the glow of that gesture and as I've read the many, many cards and reveled in

your love. ~Pastor Owen
