One of Liliana Alves´s pieces might be a necklace worn during the day or a belt come the night, while a brooch might just as easily transform into an earring, as design is placed at service of functionality and aesthetics. This process of metamorphosis ia a long way from that immortalized by kafka, but it is loaded with the same sense of surprise. If silver and contemporary filigree are characteristic features of her work, it doesn´t stop there, she will mix them with diverse materials, such as pearls, precious stone and ceramics.
