HELLO!

Page 2: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

Mechanics of the Game

Divide the class into two groups.

Each group will be assigned to

arrange the pieces of puzzle to them.

Each participating group will be given

one minute to form the puzzle. After

solving the puzzle, one member of

the group will shout “puzzle the title”.

Page 3: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

The leading group will have the

chance to guess the title of the

poem out of the puzzle. If the group

fails to guess the correct title, the

chance will be given to the second

leading group.

The group who could give the

correct title will be declared as the

winner.

Not yet, Rizal, not yet.

Sleep not in peace:

There are a thousand

waters to be spanned;

Page 6: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

There are a thousand

mountains to be

crossed;

There are a thousand

crosses to be borne.

Page 7: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

Our shoulders are not

strong; our sinews are

grown flaccid with

dependence, smug

with ease under

another's wing. Rest

not in peace;

Page 8: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

Not yet, Rizal, not yet.

The land has need

of young blood-and, what

younger than your own,

Forever spilled in the

great name of freedom,

Page 9: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

Forever oblate on the altar of

the free? Not you alone,

Rizal. O souls

And spirits of the martyred

brave, arise!

Page 10: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

Arise and scour the land!

Shed once again

your willing blood! Infuse the

vibrant red

into our thin anemic veins;

Page 11: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

Until we pick up your

Promethean tools and,

strong,

Out of the depthless matrix of

your faith

in us,

Page 12: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

and on the silent cliffs of

freedom,

we carve for all time your

marmoreal dream!

Page 13: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

Until our people, seeing, are

become like the Molave,

firm, resilient, staunch,

rising on the hillside,

unafraid,

Strong in its own fiber, yes,

like the Molave!

What does the author want to imply in

these lines,

Not yet, Rizal, not yet. Sleep not in

peace:

There are a thousand waters to be

spanned;

there are a thousand mountains to be

crossed;

there are a thousand crosses to be

borne.

Page 30: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

Why did the author choose

the molave as the ideal

symbol for the Filipino

people?

Page 31: Like A Molave/Coordinating Conjunctions

What does these lines mean?

Our shoulders are not strong;

our sinews are

grown flaccid with dependence,

smug with ease

under another's wing.
